GOOD NEWS!!!! bought a new cap today.....($ 25.00)....drained out 3/4ths of a gallon of anti-freeze, added 3/4ths of a gallon of water- fired it up running wot....with mower running for 30 minutes....top of the radiator was still cold!!! this morning i took the old cap to work....and we tested it on a rac car cap checker....it leaked the instant we pumped it. now....the cap is stamped 0.9.....is this psi? anyway....im hoping i have the problem fixed....even though the dealer robbed me for 25 bucks for a freaking cap!!!!:mur:

On the fan belt your observations on tightness may be correct.

That's .9 bar or around 14 psi

i have a book for mine.....and i have read it!!! i do all my own work on it....been a mechanic and tool and die maker since i graduated from high school....i work for a race team. so i dont need you chiming in telling me to read a freaking book!!!! why do you suppose my original mower belt lasted me 17 years???? oops.....maybe i didnt take good enough care of my tractor or it might have lasted me my lifetime!!!!:smiley_aafz:

Don't take the advise to read the book personally. You'd be surprised how many readers here lack the most remedial abilities. We really don't know what the experience level of the poster is until we he/she has been here for awhile.
