Plow for a GC2400

I have an old 2 furrow pull type plow on steel wheels that I was thinking of converting to a 3PH version. Will my GC2400 pull a 2-14" furrow plow or should I cut it down to 1 furrow.:confused2:

I don't know for sure, but my 10 hp Bolens pulls a 1 bottom. So I would bet on the GC pulling 2.

A lot has to do with how it's set up.

I use a single furrow [old horse plow] behind my GC 2300,thats been converted to 3 pth.It pulls it but needs to be in 4x4 and even at times I have to lift it up a bit as it will make the tractor spin out.I just have turf tires BTW. A two bottom would be to much.We have heavy clay base soil so its tough to plough at the best of times.Larry

Turf tires are great until you want to use ground engaging equipment like a plow. Then, for best performance, it's a good time to chain up the rear tires.

Getting the angles, and the depth set right are important. Many mold board plows have a disc cutter that runs in front which could be helpful. I am not sure, I never took mine off to see the difference.

But, like I said, I can pull a singe with my Bolens, so the Massey should be able to beat that.
