So I have been reading that there is now a choice. Go with the factory Super UDT fluid for my B3200 or the new Super UDT 2. Most everyone has posted that the 2 is "supposed" to be cheaper. I would love to know where they are getting it cheaper. From what I found it is priced higher than the normal Super UDT. That is if the have it.

On a side note. While pricing the filters I found that it appears as if Kubota sets the price on this stuff. Is this the case or is there room to wiggle?

Earlier posts that I saw indicated SUDT2 was going to replace SUDT. I never saw the cheaper part. Prices seem to be going up on most stuff other than electronics.
I'm sure Kubota has a recommended MSRP on their branded products just like on their tractors but apparently they have no control over the actual selling price since different dealers sell both supplies and tractors at different prices. Sure dealers all pay the same price for the products but determine their own percentage of profit.
Wiggle where and when you can.:)

All word of mouth right now. Word I "heard" was same or similar price to sudt. Didn't hear the cheaper part and I would have been surprised if that had been the case.

Doesn't matter much to me. When it comes time to drain the fluid, whatever the best product they have at the time is going in it. Right now that would be SUDT-2

At Coleman's SUDT and SUDT2 are the same price ($20.89) in gal containers. Haven't checked elsewhere.

I paid the same price per gallon for a 5 gallon pail of SUDT 2 last week. I just wish this snow would go away for good so that I could change out the filter and fluid.

When I bought the 2 a couple months ago it was the same price as the left over SUDT. The dealer may be charging more for the 2 so he can deplete his SUDT inventory.

When I talked to my dealer a month ago he said that the SUDT2 was cheaper for there cost, now that may be a introductry price or they are marking it up more now to move the old stuff.

Its 10% less... for now, till oil prices go up cause of problems in the middle east.

We also cut our margin on the SUDT to match SUDT2 to move the old stock out. So the prices would look the same if you where not aware of what the old price was.

Besides price, does anyone know the difference between the two? While I admit that I haven't done a ton of research on it, I haven't been able to really find any concrete differences between them and when you should use one vs. the other. Or are they basically the same? Thanks.

Messicks, is SUDT going to be NLA? Sounds it from your comment. Reason I ask is that I have 2 gal's of SUDT on hand so I plan to buy another 1 or 2 for the 1st full service, then switch to SUDT2. I was assuming I could still get SUDT when the time comes. If it's going to be discontinued, I'll order some SUDT now and not wait.

Regarding the difference, the SUDT2 says synthetic and I don't think the SUDT is.

SUDT2 is a synthetic.

Yes, shipments of SUDT are done. They are okay to mix according to the paperwork... but I always get weird about that myself.

SUDT never was but many thought it was. The new stuff is a synthetci but I wonder on what group...Ex, A walmart synthetic oil is not the same class as redline..

I paid $22.65 a gallon for SUDT2 which is $2 cheaper a gallon than SUDT. The dealer said Kubotas intent was to sell it cheaper and that the oil is better. Who knows but Ill take it.

What was the changeover date for SUDT 2 in the factory? I have a new BX25 and am curious if its SUDT -1 or SUDT -2. I have a bit of a foaming issue. If im SUDT1 then im curious if SUDT2 was an improvement in that area.

I would like to know the same.

When Kubota is way behind the times on oil and want me to pay $8+ for a little oil filter, something is very wrong. The pimped Sudt for YEARS and now SUDT2 is cheaper?. When everythign is going up in price. What does that say.

We had that foaming issue and some other problems with SUDT1. Most oil changes leave me feeling better about myself and the tractor. After a change the whole world seems a bit brighter - although in truth I'd be hard pressed to point to any single thing and say it had really changed. But the SUDT wasn't subtle. As soon as we figured out that oil might be responsible for some strange behavior we went back to a standard hydraulic oil and and everything immediately began to work noticibly better. Well, that's not quite the whole story. The SUDT bave slightly less noise and smoother operation during cold starts in the dead of winter. It worked way worse after things warmed up and on warmer days.

Like anything else there seems to be a learning curve to making good oils for special purposes.
good luck, rScotty
