TO USE CLUTCH OR NOT??

Hi Everyone,

I have an 06' Kubota L-4330HSTC, i know i have to press clutch in when starting, but when i shift from say "M" to "H"(high) and the tractor is a full stop, do i have to depress clutch? Some say its a hydrostatic, no need to.....whats everyones opinon?

No need to. Just need to be sure that everything is stopped otherwise there will be some grinding.

There are some old threads on this and some do, some don't. I personally only use the one on my L5030 when starting. Some use the clutch when engaging the PTO to let it spool up. I did this for a while, but find I can do fine with just the PTO lever like I do on our M8540 and every other tractor I use.

As mentioned, be sure everything is stopped and sometimes as it is hard to tell any slight creep, I will apply the brake. If there is any resistance the manual will tell you to rock your HST pedal. If operating in this manner and there is grinding, try something else.

I checked with my dealer when I bought mine and this is how they told me to operate.

Out of a sense of caution, I have tried it both ways and found no difference in operation.

I wish Kubota would follow the lead of other manufacturers and eiminate the clutch all together.

i only use my clutch when starting the tractor an thats it.as for the pto i just turn it on with out clutching.
