Oil & Fuel JD 790 - can't find the drain plug

/ JD 790 - can't find the drain plug #11
The BEST part (aside from having to wash my hair with dish soap after my hair dipped into the transmission oil in the driveway) is that my clutch is not nearly as jerky as it was before. I put it into second gear and didn't get whiplash when the machine went forward. Score for me!

Sorry about the mistake in gender...I actually thought your nick was two names (Kate and Aidan...Aidan being the male) meaning, a couple.

Anyway, I doubt your clutch is less jerky...you're just getting better at slipping it. Sometimes it's better to have the RPM low (800-1000), step off the clutch then use the hand throttle to the desired RPM. This works especially good if you're in 4th gear high range, BTW.

I'm a "she" actually. ;) And my tractor is my new favorite toy!

Congratulations! Nothing like a hydraulic oil baptism to feel like an 'ol tractor hand!

. . .
(BTW, have a good sized pan under the drain...that's about 5 gallons coming out if I recall correctly)

And make sure the bucket you put under it doesn't have any holes in the bottom of it.

And if the bucket DOES have holes in it, make sure the second bucket you use doesn't have any holes in it, either.

(Yes, there's a story there involving 90W oil in a Ford 2N and 2 buckets with holes in the bottom; and my wife just LOVES to tell it to anybody who'll listen.)

As Hank Williams sang..."My bucket's got a hole in it..."

"Donut Center, CO"???? Is that for real?

Yeah, it's a real hole.

Actually, no, but that's what I tell everyone who asks where I live. We don't want a bunch of folks moving out here and spoiling things for us.

For a drain container I got a concrete mixing tub from Home Depot.
It would hold maybe 20 gallons and with only five gallons it's easy to handle and drain.
Maybe 20" x 36" so it catches all the drips.
