Got it done. California, the old rods were completely rusted solid. That's how I snapped one of them trying to loosen the lock nut. Anyway's, I wound up cutting the threaded ends off, forcing the die to work and shortening the barrels. The threads aren't as clean as I would like but they will have to do till I have the time to just make the whole thing from scratch.

Sorry for the time it took. I also put the PTO and 3Pt back on. I tried to take a picture of the oil level inside with the correct amount of oil but I could never get the camera to pick up on the oil.

All back together. Forgot how nice it was to have brakes that work:laughing:

Drove it around tonight to check for leaks. So far none but nothing got hot to really tell yet. Just glad it went forward and backward like it was supposed to.:D

Congratulations, you ought to be good for another 100,000 miles.:) I notice you have a quick hitch. I have a Harbor Freight quick hitch. Had to do modifying on quite a few implements but it sure is nice. I change implements pretty regular, especially in gardening season.

The last time I mashed my finger taking the bush hog off, I said that's it, and went down and got a quick hitch. Had to modify the box blade and drill new holes for the bush hog pins. Everything else fit. It's great and I wish I had gotten one sooner.

I got mine from TSC. It had been sitting on the lot for a couple of years and they let me have it for 125.00. Just picked up a 5' scraper blade and now that I got the tractor back together I can play with it.

There are several Quick Hitch threads on TBN. In summary, it is a framework you install instead of an implement. Then (assuming a lot of stuff) you simply back up to your implement, raise the QH to hook the implement's pins with its hooks, and drive off to start work. One advantage I like is you can nudge the implement into alignment shoving it with the QH. This saves time.

Here is Tractor Supply's listing. Harbor Freight's seems identical but comes with no accessories, at a third the price.

Here's a picture of mine in use. Note the extreme angle between the tractor and the mower. An ordinary hookup wouldn't allow that extreme angle.

And here's how I obtained the extreme flexibility to allow that angle. For this application, I used a chain in place of the QH's upper hook.

There is more variability in implement width than you might expect. Here, I shimmed my little disc to make the pins as wide as the QH's hooks.

Finally, here is a rear pallet fork assembly I cobbled together that fits on the QH. It is real handy to just back up to that attachment, pick it up, and go move some heavy object like this box blade.

I suggest start a new QH thread in here, or add to an existing one, so QH discussion will be easier for others to find.

What did you have to modify on your implements? Normally guys just had to spread the legs a bit on a HF hitch with a hydraulic jack to get them to fit everything.

I used these adapter for all of my implements. They extend the width of the pins just enough so you don't have to spread the implement.

I found it best to have different Size Tractors set up for different tasks. Some implements work much better then only having 15-30 HP. size weight etc. and versa. And then I don't have the problem of different sized Quick Hitches. But then again you have to make the best of what you have to work with. ;)

I know the 1900 is a rare model but when they show the part for that model they should at least take the time to make sure it works or put a statement that you may have to modify it.

The problem is that on those "rare" models like the 1600, 1900, 2200, 2700 Yanmar seems to have made changes to things and did not note it in the parts books.

After reading about the problem you have had with the brake rods I investigated as far as I could and could not track down the problem. I found around 40 of those sets sold to customers with 1900 & 1600 tractors. Only 2 orders had a note about any problems and the customers in those cases said the linkages we sent were a little too SHORT! I could not find any record of anyone else having problems with them. According to the parts book those rods that we sent are correct. We have also used those rods ourselves on other tractors and they fit exactly like they should. Apparently there is either a design change somewhere that was not documented... at least not in any of the YM1900 parts books we have ever seen or your tractor was modified at some point in its life.

The parts we sell should fit perfectly or there is a problem and we need to know about it. We always check random batches of parts but it is impossible to check every part that leaves our warehouse. If we are made aware of a problem we will correct it or if it is one of those cases where there are no other options then we will note it on our website. Otherwise, please tell us if there is ever a problem with any of the parts we sell.

Here's a picture of the original brake rod and the new rod. The new rod is screwed in as far as it will go and the original has about 1/2" of threads still showing on each rod. The new rod assembly is an exact replacement for the clutch rod but not for the brake rods. In my manual, the 1600 and 1900 both show the same part number 191450-37760 for the long rod. The new short rod matches the existing rod length. The long clutch rod is listed as 191450-22470. I don't know if the part numbers got mixed up or someone thinks the brake and clutch rods are the same. My parts book shows them to be different rods. I purchased my service and parts manuals from Hoye.

There were other parts and I PM'd you on those.

Buying an new implement I can probably get past the wife. Buying a new tractor to pull the new implement is going to be a lot harder:laughing:
