When I purchased my B3030 HSDC, the dealer gave me a rear lighting kit, but it was the wrong one; a single lamp kit for the non-cab model. I have seen a few pics of the rear lights on this site and one at the dealer 2-3 years ago, but can find no photos of the kits supplied switch, and it's placement, nor any online instruction sheet with illustrations, just the kit part number and MSRP. Can anyone tell me where the switch mounts, if a bracket is supplied with the switch, and a general placement or the switch. I did see a pic of what was believed to be the harness connector under the headliner for the switch, which appeared to be larger gauge wire than the two 2 wire connectors at cab back. I really only wanted the kit to obtain a factory appearance for the switch, bracket, and wiring, and was going to give the lamps to friends with golf carts to get rid of cheap foglamps they are currently using. Any info would be appreciated, pictures, or the instructions download would be nice, but just any knowledge or experience would be fine. thanks............

EDIT: The rear wiper install post by Ductape has a few good shots of the cab interior, minus headliner, and was/is a good source of information.

Bump

Does anyone on this site have a B3030 HSDC, HSDCC with a rear lighting kit, either dealer, factory?, or owner installed?

Sorry, I saw this post the other day and then I forgot about it. I just took a quick picture but it was pitch black outside.

The switch mounts on a plate on the upper right rear (as sitting in the seat) by the cab window. One switch is the rear work lights and the other is the rear washer/wiper. I have all cab options on my B3030hsdcc so let me know if you have any other questions.

Let me know if you need more pictures. I will try to get some more during daylight hours next time :)

Thanks a lot, that photo helps, and has good detail even though taken in the dark. My tractor has the bracket @ top of rear window, but has 2 empty slots due to neither rear lights, rear defog, & rear wiper/washer.

LRH, i plan on adding rear worklights to my 3030 before the snow flies. I consider both kits (wiper and worklights) to be plenty affordable. I did a blow-by-blow thread a ways back when i installed the wiper kit which was a very straight forward install. If i get the light kit before you do your install, i'll be happy to take pics of the install.

Your post on the rear wiper install was helpful, as I would have removed the headliner at some point just to see how the HVAC and extra wiring is laid out. I have learned a lot over the years by taking something apart just to see how it was/is built. From your photo; and the photo posted by amigauser I figure that the the harness you show is the harness for the rear lamps. I thought the rear wiper switch is mounted by the washer reservoir, but that may be the rear defrost, or maybe either one will fit in either position. Well anyway, thanks to all who have given info, and to those who posted pictures.

You will find both harnesses (wiper and worklights) taped up in the right rear corner of the cab. Drop the headliner, pull the harness down and plug in the switch from Kubota (after you clip it into its hole). If i were smart, i would have pulled the worklight harness down and left it hanging when i did the wiper install. It would have saved me from having to drop the back of the headliner again :(. The job is a little quicker if you don't have the radio to remove, but its definitely an install you can do yourself. No need for a trip back to the dealer.

P.S. I think the wiper kit was under $150........ might be worth thinking about doing both installs at the same time. I wasn't thinking far enough ahead........ i'll definitely want the rear worklights before snowblowing season hits!

The rear defroster control is mounted near the washer reservoir. I think the upper plate is just for the rear work lights and rear washer/wiper switches.

Thanks....

Thanks both to Ductape and LHR. Dropping the headliner was a cinch once I found out how to take those plastic rivets out. By the way, I had already put a lighter for a power source in that plug on the left side to run my sprayer. Fortunately, I put a toggle switch on it so, when a found a little magnetic mount light yesterday at Harbot Frieght it plugs right in so now I have a nice cab light for $2.99.

Thanks for the thanks, but is was ductape who did the headliner removal, and amigauser who supplied shots of the switch bracket and switches. I have not removed my headliner yet, but will someday. I probably won't do the rear wiper since I just use tractor on my own properties and we have very little snow, so I might try to pull down the rear lamp harness by removing and reaching through the return air intake. If that fails, I will drop the headliner.

Tried that; harness is taped in 2 spots; one on the right side of the roof and also next to the harness for the wiper. Wire needs to go thru that little indentation in the head liner by the back window in order to have enough slack to make it to the metal mounting bracket for the switches. You don't need to remove the entire headline: go up to the door rivet, take off the trim around heater control, pop out the side air vents, remove the fresh air knob and you can see all you need to see ( about 10 minutes). Are you going to use the Kubota switches or going to fab something. I imagine the factory switches are expensive (the front and rear are identicial) and I'm leaning towards just mounting a lighted toggle or rocker switch like I did on the lighter outlet.

Guess I'll partially pull the headliner. I don't have the switch yet, I may use the Carling Contura type(V or J series), as that is what My NH tractor uses, and they look and work well.

I wanted one of those nice looking green factory light switches they run 30 dollars plus PN 36919-54222. I figured I could make due with something else.

I like LRH's plan of putting the money into the lights instead of the switch

Hi,

I have a B3030-HSDC and have installed the correct Kubota factory kit, almost. The installation went fine until I pulled the headliner and I can not find the pigtail to attach to my new switch. I had assumed it would be tucked up in the right rear, but there is nothing there. Is it possible that a 2006 B3030-HSDC was not wired for the rear lights?

Any advice that might be offered would be appreciated.

I have an 05 and mine is taped up in the right rear corner, so i'd have assumed yours would be there as well. I haven't added the rear worklights yet, but i saw the pigtail there when i installed my rear wiper kit.

I did something similar to get me by until the day I decide to spend the $$ on a rear light kit. Found a wire somewhere nearby the washer tank and tie wrapped a lighter to the washer tank bracket. Found a magnetic mounted light at Tractor Supply. Light is stuck right onto the snow blower for winter and on back of the cab the rest of the year.
I haven't had the headliner out since March 2009 just after I got the tractor so I can't recall if any pigtails were there or not.

PS - Does anyone have a part # for the rear light kit? A word search doesn't seem to get me far on either Google or any Kubota dealer websites.

Light kit is B7327 .......... my copy of the wholegood list is from 2009, but MSRP for the kit is $127.00. The price has probably been adjusted a few bucks now.

If you want a copy of the 2009 wholegoods list, PM me your email address and I'll try to send you a copy. If it's too large to email, I'd have no idea how to compress it...... but I'd be happy to give it a shot.

Thank you sir. I'll check Messick's website and see what I can find. As far as a 2009 list, my tractor is a 2009 model.
Update:
Messick's search function didn't turn up anything with that part # so I just sent an inquiry to them. Neil is always one to help on this forum so I'll see if I can't give them a play.
