Is there anyone who makes a trenching tooth, or spike that I can put on my drawbar and cut an 8" deep trench?

I need to run water and power from my shop to the newly converted barn, and it seems that an adjustable spike or hook would get the job done.

Does any such animal exist?

Thanks JJ, that is exactly what I was thinking about. Knew in my (empty:D) head what it was, but not what it was called.

Thanks,

Thanks guys. I was not looking forward to finding the time to fab something up. Plus, this is a good excuse to buy another implement.:D

Here is a better deal. A combination setup. It is a subsoiler, or a middle buster, or a hitch for towing trailers. Years ago, I purchased this combination for $150

JJ, i have something similar to yours. Only mine has the trailer mover on all the time, even with the middle shank on.

I've never had the subsoiler. I'm wondering how deep it goes and how well the path is cleared?

Thanks,
Rob

Mine is pretty big, the 3720 can only lift the tip of it about 4" off the ground with the top link at its shortest at the lowest mounting hole in the tractor. It actually does a really great job with making a nice, clean trench. I made a trench last winter with it along our driveway for water run off and the driveway didnt require maintanace once. Very useful implement to have around.

If the subsoiler will stay in the ground up to the bar, you have cut through the dirt. We use something like this to pull PVC and wire through the ground. You might not go so deep on the first pass, but if there are no roots in the way or rocks, it should be an easy pull

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll give one a try.
