I just bought a 2011 F-250, 6.7 diesel, King Ranch, 4x4. It runs real quiet, traded a 2006 King Ranch and this diesel runs a lot quieter than the 2006. I drove to Kentucky from South Carolina and got around 18.5 mpg driving around 75 miles per hour. Very pleased with it. Make sure if you buy one get the air condition seats.

Hmmmm....pics for sure. 18.5 @ 75 is not too bad. Wonder what gearing? And, what results from throttling back to 65....and....after break-in......
Surely there must be other '11 buyers out there with some miles on to report in??!

Re: Center console shift - I know, a few pages ago...

I can see it as an option, maybe on a certain trim level, but if you're plowing snow (particularly driveways), you want the column shift.
That allows you to hang a thumb on the steering wheel at the 2:00 position, and use your 4 fingers on the gear shift lever right behind it.
Then, your left hand is on the plow joystick. It's all quite efficient. A console shift would not allow that.

That's interesting.

I have been wanting console shift for years for snowplowing, I shift with my left hand now.

Better yet would be pilot controls. :D

There is no center console shifter available on the new Super Duties. I ordered a F250 Lariat on 7-7 and it has a build date of 8/9. Really looking forward to the new truck.

Scoutcub,

My 2011 F-350 Dually Crew Cab, Long Box, 3.73 rear. approximately 1500 miles on her. Daily driver. Mileage (unloaded) at 75-80mph highway is 16-17, if I slow down to 65 I see mileage in the 19s (I've seen 20 but only briefly). Towing my PJ 28ft. goose empty back from PA I got about 15. Loaded with the M59 I get about 12 mixed driving (highway and around town).

Mileage really depends upon how heavy your foot is and how much climbing your doing. The truck is quite fast and is really snappy in the 20mph to 60mph range...so its tough to not go fast!! When zipping around town unloaded (fast short trips, lots of short steep NJ hills) I get about 14.

For comparison, I also have a 02 F-150 5.4 that "drinks" it at an unloaded average of 12.5. Needless to say I'm very happy with the mileage and power of the new SD. Now lets see if she's gonna be reliable.

Great report, thanks. Mileage is definitely better than my 06 350 CC dually diesel, and will probably improve with time. I don't think 3.73 was a 1 ton option in 06 though? At least that's what I recall at the time...I've got 4.10's.
What size tires came on the truck?

3.73 was available in 06 on SRW trucks but I do not think so in dually with the diesel.

245/75 17s They don't offer the 4.10 anymore on the 350...you have to go to the 450 to get that. My understanding is Ford says it's not necessary to have a 4.10 in the 350 with the new tranny, any if you compare the towing numbers to the dodge with the 4.10 I believe it.

The dodge is real pretty though. Almost bought one. Ride was nowhere near as compliant as the 11 ford. The ford is way snappier too.

The towing chart in the Ford Diesel Supplement shows only the 3.73 for the SRW diesel 1 ton. I have a 2006 F-350 SRW, and it is indeed a 3.73 limited slip, according to the differential code on the door sticker. It turns around 2000 RPM at 70 MPH on stock 265/75-17 tires.

Same here with the 3.73's limited slip. I have a 06 Powerstroke F-350 4x4 SRW with bigger tires than listed above, 275/70/18. It was my stock size also. My truck will run 78 mph at 1900 rpm and with the Quadzilla chip, MAC intake and filter, and 4" exhaust will turn in 23mpg on the highway. It averages 17mpg between fill ups with some towing, in town driving, and some highway stuff.

I am jealous. I want a SRW 4x4 Diesel F-350 so bad I can taste it but will wait a year or two to see how they pan out. My 06 6.0 has been such a good truck I will have a hard time letting it go.

I had 2006 6.0 a real good truck. I had no problems. My wife hated to see it go.

I have a couple pics of my 2011 F-250 Lariat in a thread in this section. Since the last few posts were about gears, my truck came stock with 20 inch rims on 275's. It has 3.55 gears.

PMA - My dream truck has been a King Ranch for a long time, but I just couldn't bring myself to pay the extra $$$. The Lariat tapped me out. But I can settle with that.

Started this thread a while back and just wanted to say i Ordered my truck yestorday. 2011 F250 4x4 Lariat, 20" wheels, 3.55 locker, chrome steps, tail gate steps w/Nav. This is a Job 2 truck so it will have the new monotone seats, and the 400hp/800tq motor. White w/Gray on the bottom.
Should be here in 6 wks. Got a great deal sticker for 58935, got 6k off plus the 2500 ford rebates i also got a 1000 coupon in the mail. Didn't take the 1000 bonus on the trade as the dealer ship only offered 1500 for the 97 f350. Going to sell it on my own.
Will post pics when it come.

Can not wait to see it. Just curious why you did not get a F-350 SRW for the extra GVWR? What is the GVWR and max tow rating of the truck you ordered?

I got the 10000 Gvwr package. I didn't want the 350 because i really wanted a little better ride. I don't pull anything to big, just have a 25' goose neck, and a 25' enclosed for pulling the race car. I've been reading about Timbrens replacement bump stops. here is a link to them. anyway that is what i'm going to do if i feel i need the extra capacity. Vehicle Suspension Kits - Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems

The max tow rating is 14k bumper

My 04 F-250 has the 10K package and my 06 F-350 SRW has the 11.5K package. There is no comparison. I would change my order if I were you and do not make the mistake I made. You never know when you may get a bigger toy as I did 1 year after getting my F-250 and then realize I did not have enough truck. Its not much money to upgrade to the F-350 SRW, about $600 and I guarantee you if I put you in my drive way and blind folded you then took you in a rid in both you could not tell the difference. They ride the same but the F-350 is much more truck and more secure and actually rides better with a load.

Just think about it. I made that mistake once. Why do you thing the dealers stock so many 3/4 ton diesels? Guys want a diesel and thy figure a 3/4 ton is the way to go when stepping up from a 1/2 ton such as I did. In a few years they out grow it and they then get a new truck sale just as they did in my case.
