When I ordered my tractor, I thought I just had to have the mid PTO even though I knew I would never have a MMM. So far, I have yet to use it!

I have an old 300gal sprayer tank that I use for spraying the yard, watering trees and watering the garden. My 6 roller PTO pump that I have works ok for everything but the garden watering where I have 5 spinklers that cover about 100' x 30' garden. I have to run the rpm's a little high to get them all flowing good. The pump is a 540/1000rpm pump so I wondered if I hooked it to my mid PTO which I think is 2000 RPM if I could run the RPM much lower and still get the same flow.

Any thoughts on this? I have yet to even remove the cover on the PTO so I wonder if the splines are the same as the rear PTO. The cover looks smaller that the cover on the rear PTO also.

The splines are NOT the same, so you would have to adapt/fabricate a driveshaft yourself. Other than that, and the fact that it would be in a vulnerable area it would work.

Thanks for the input Kenny. The tractor is parked when watering the garden so there is no risk of it getting caught on something but it would be a pain to hook up.
