3316 tool box, seat, grapple

I posted on another thread how I was installing a tool box from Atwoods that cost me $18 and was painted red. I welded a couple of lengths of tube on each end for a place to stick lynch pins when hooking up; saw this scheme on the end of the 3 pt. on some new LS tractors so I stuck the tubes on the end of the new tool box.

The tool box is not centered as I had the rear auxillary controls added which I use to open and close the grapple. I added a square tubing spacer to locate the SMV triangle to the rear so the tool box could be located more rearward to maintain a gap behind the seat and allow the seat to be moved more reward. You can't tell there is about 1" clearance between the box and seat from my pictures.

There is a picture of the square tubing adapters I made to allow mounting of the Iowa brand suspension seat from TS.

I rinsed the tractor with the hose prior to the pictures so there is water droplets all over the tractor. There is a plastic magnetic bowl to the right side of the seat in one picture; another handy holder for clips, etc. while hitching up.

I still need to finish my retractable seat belt brackets and add a rear light. Still on the fence as to adding a hard canopy. Need a drink holder too.

Do you like the new seat substantially better? When I rake hay for hours the Mahindra seat leaves a little bit to be desired.

Nice job on the mods! The DIY grapple is ambitious, indeed. I'm curious about the seat comfort also, as mine is in need of replacing.

I can not imagine not having a canopy. My poor old body would be burned beyond recognition if I didn't have my canopies.

I purchased the Grapple from my tractor dealer. It is manufactured by:

The dealer had experience with same on his 2815 or 2816; can't remember which.

I had the same seat on the Dexta and wanted a Mahindra branded suspension seat but never got the feedback requested of my dealer so just went ahead and bought this seat from Tractor Supply. It is as much better as the difference between night and day.

Actually I looked at your mods early on and they have inspired me to make the changes on mine.

I want the canopy; but if I get it I really need to trim some trees or I'll rip it off! The canopy would be my answer to additonal lighting mounting.
