Kubota or Kioti

Yes! That's the way to do it. Everyone ought to at least once in their life go all out and purchase something with every optional upgrade.-What fun!

BTW, between Kioti and Kubota we chose Kubota. But in all honesty that was after first looking looking at JD, Massey, Yanmar, and New Holland - and found that none of those made the TLB that we were after. If they had, I'd have probably gone with one of those...We've always been particularly partial to JD and Massey.

1. There is a Kubota dealer within 15 minutes of my house. The Kioti dealer near me is one of the largest, oldest, in the midwest though the dealership is an hour away. He is there to stay.

2. I will not be mowing a yard with the tractor. I have a small zero-turn for that. Wife would leave me if I got rid of that.

3. The Kubota dealer that comes closest to the 'package price' of the Kioti is three hours away. And is still over a thousand higher.

4. I plan to keep the tractor long enough to accomplish several 'goals' of work. Then resell the entire package. This may be ten to fifteen years in the future.

5. This is my retirement toy. Not a commercial money maker.

Help me decide.

RSKY, your profile says you are in Kentucky - have you contacted Barlow Equipment in Somerset ? If not, perhaps they can help to close the gap on the pricing - as their prices are often hard to beat, and they have top knotch customer service. It sounds as though you wanna go Kubota or you probably would have already gone with the Kioti with the price difference. I have not Kioti experience other than I've heard some things about warranty issues, but nothing specific. All I can say is that you can't hardly go wrong with Kubota.

I can't honestly say one tractor is better than the other, but I certainly wouldn't let a thousand or two move me one way or the other when planning to keep a tractor fifteen years. Also resale value is important no matter how long I plan to keep anything unless I am never going to sell/trade it.

I don't recall but have you also gotten quotes from Bobcat? As you know those are the exact same tractors as the Kioti (different loaders) and as each company has different marketing strategies their rebates/incentives are not always lined up so there can be pretty big price differences between the two colors. Many more Bobcat dealers than Kioti dealers nationally so that might affect your neighborhood.

Regarding warranty, Kioti has a longer warranty than Kubota. Check Kioti forum for "issues"; none different from Kubota experience that I can recall. I haven't checked but presume Bobcat is the same as Kioti. Regarding resale; not so much of an issue if you are talking 10-15 years down the line.

Both excellent tractors. I had similar choice and bought a few implements with the money I saved by getting the Kioti. Having specialized implements is a major plus in getting work done. $2K can get you quite a nice collection of extras.

I was partial to the Kubota, Mahindra and the Massey. It then narrowed down to the Kub and Massey. Both sub compacts are very good machines, both tractors are made in Japan. In the end I chose Massey because of the backhoe though I wished it had better lift number on the loader like Kubota. In the end all that matters is "does it fit your wallet and your needs?"

He bought his B7610 several years ago. Before Kioti went to the 48hr warranty. I think that explains his comment.

Exactly, thank you. If they had a 48 month warranty when I purchased I would be using a Kioti. I did like the tractor.

If you really want to get the best bang for the buck then patiently wait for a like new one to pop up in a private sale. With the economy the way it is, I see some super deals on tractors from time to time here in middle TN. I have bought new and lost money when I sold. I rarely lose anything when I buy used because most of the depreciation. has already happened. As to warranty, if the tractor was not abused, it will still last the same amount of time but instead of saving $1000 you can save $5000. That takes care of a lot of repairs and implements. I would not have bought the Bobcat if I had not got that initial offering deal that made it cheaper than a used one. BTW, I wouldn't care which color it was if there were a good tractor shop near me that would work with me as I can get parts from anywhere in the nation quickly.

Orange is nice. I think Kubota and Kioti advocates should stop squabbling and start rooting for the Dutch team in the World Cup, at least until/if they meet up with the combined Massey/Bobcat/NH team. :thumbsup:

if you like a Kioti you may want to take a peek at a Bobcat, I looked at Kioti, MF, JD, NH, YanmarCub, and Bobcat, walked away with my Bobcat

i just bought a used 7610 from a dealer, an think i got a heck of a deal: have been pricing them all, an could not come up with what i thought was a deal on a new tractor: best price came from the yanmarcub: other than paint it was just like a JD: but i got a used kubota with 149 hours, an fel for less than just the tractor when pricing new:

Sounds like a very good deal. My first tractor was a slightly used CK20/FEL with 28hrs that I got for $10K a few years ago. It was sitting on the dealers lot as a trade from a guy who moved up to the CK30. Getting nearly new deals like that (and 150hrs is also nearly new) is a great way to save $$ over new.
