B7800 or B3200?

   / B7800 or B3200? #11
Went to the local dealer today to check out the newer B3200 with FEL. While I was there talking to to sales people. They suggested that I also look at the B7800 with a FEL. They currently have both in stock. Both still boxed, not weather damaged. They felt that the 7800 series tractors had a better FEL setup since it had the better/heavier duty frame support. What are the thoughts between these 2 tractors? Which is the better deal for the money? Obviously the 3200 is higher priced. But is it worth the extra $1500 + over the 7800?

What are people getting the B7800 and the B3200's with a FEL out the door for. I just wanted to see if my quoted price was good or just a starting point.

curious what is your local dealer?

If it were me I would get the B7800 and see how many implements I can squeeze into the price until it reaches the level of the B3200. If they are both brand new I don't see why pay the extra $ for something that will not do more. I bet the dealer is a lot more willing to negotiate on the B7800.
As I said if it was my choice.

The quoted price on the 2 tactors is only around $1,400 less for the 7800 over the 3200. So I don't see me being able to add any implements to raise the price up to the level of the 3200, maybe a back or box blade.

The price of these tractors is a little high and hard to bite off at one time. I have no idea how some of you can do it with all the attachments added on.

I need the tractor for 7 acres of land. Most of it hills. 2+ acres of grass and the rest wooded. The only implement I want to get on the tactor at time of purchase is the FEL. I will get the MMM come summer. I do not want to finance it with the rest of the tractor.

The 2630 and 3030 are a little to high priced for me. I can not justify the extra bell's and whistles that they come with. Unless the 3 point hitch is that much better on the 2630 over the 7800 and 3200's.

The B7800s are being discontinued and the inventory must go. Not rocket science.

The B7800 and the 3200 are the same other than a few cosmetics and tiny details (Kubota.com). I have the 7800 and it works fine. If two more (perceived) HP make any difference, I'd never know it.

Don't squabble over a few hundred dollars. Get what you need.

You should get the MMM with the machine. It will be a bit cheaper as a package and they will install the mounting hardware. Load the tires regardless.

I'd go B7800 with whatever I needed as attachments and never look back. Next summer you'll want the MMM and be too stingy to pay retail and additional installation. Get everything now and be done with it.

$16000-$16500 B3200

let's say the price I was quoted for the 3200 with the FEL and the loaded r4 tires was a little higher, around $17,100.

Are you getting better prices.

To me $700 to $1000 is more than a little. Contact Barlows as I recommended to you before, I think. Even though I've bought 10 from them in the last 6 years, I don't think they give me any better price than anyone else. They may give me more hats and maybe quicker delivery since I live 6 miles from their lot.:)

I had a B7800 for 3 years and had/have a B3200 for one year. I just traded the B3200 with 40 hours to Barlows for a BX25 and they haven't picked it up yet. You can probably get it for less than a B7800. I can't recall any problem with the B7800 and it was a great machine but I did choose the B3200 over the B7800 when I went back to a B series. Since I trade alot or previously traded alot (I've stopped trading alot as of yesterday) I always consider resale or trading. I believe the resale in proportion to purchase price to be better on the B3200. Worst thing about the B7800 was trying to fill it with fuel because the bar for the FEL goes across the top of the fuel filler hole. Both are great machines. Check with Barlows to determine if you got a good price.

The B3200 came out around Late 2008 and replaced the B7800. The B3200 is like an Improved B7800. Hard to believe that a dealer still has a B7800? They are both Great Tractors!! You won't go wrong with either one.

The B7800 was rated at 30HP (22 PTO) and the B3200 is rated at 32HP (23 PTO)
The B7800 weight 1741lbs - The B3200 weight 1764lbs
Hydraulics- Total Pump Output B7800-9.5gpm - B3200-9.9gpm
Travel Speed - B7800 11.9 forward-9.4 reverse - B3200 12.3 forward-9.8 reverse
Width Min Tread B7800-53.7in - B3200-53.8
Fuel Tank Capacity B7800-6.9 Gal - B3200-8.1 Gal
Engine Oil Capacity B7800-4.3 Qts - B3200-5.7 Qts

Loader for the B7800 is the LA402 and the B3200 is the LA504
Lift capacity Pivot Pin - LA402-1060lbs - LA504-1065lbs
Breakout Force - La402-2305lbs - La504-2474lbs
Raise Time in Seconds LA402-3.2 - LA504-2.8
Lowering Time - LA402-2.4 - LA504-2.5
Roll Back Time LA402-2.4 - LA504-2.1

Loader Valve Possition is Much nicer on the B3200, Front Grille stays cleaner on the B3200, Much nicer back lighted Dash on the B3200 and a much nicer headlight.

You would be happy with either one!! Both are Great Tractors!!

Emerich Sales & Service inc., thanks for the side by side comparison of those 2 tractors. That info does help. I have been checking the rest of my area to see what other prices I find.

Could you PM me a price for both tractors with the font loader and the loaded R4 tires?

You said $1400 will not buy much and that is true, but. It will pay for a large part of the mowing deck and you will not have to hunt for one later. There is a lot to be said for getting the package. It is a large sum of money for sure but there is a reason why so many here wait for years (me for one) only to say in the end: I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE YEARS AGO.

The comparison you were given is nice but it further points out that there is very little difference between the two machines you are considering. One thing for sure you will be happy with either one. I have a B7800 on 10 acres (2 grass 8 woods) and it is a great match for what I do. Contact Barlow's and Messick's too. They are helpful contributors here and said to be good to deal with.
