Ready here but ole man winter has yet to pay visit still under inch fallen here so far...strange.

Thomas, I drove from Moultonborough NH to Newport VT on Sunday. It was amazing to see the disparities in snowfall. There was close to 8 inches in Franconia Notch (they were skiing top to bottom on Cannon) and 2 miles later no snow at all.

My NH TC35D has sat outside and covered as necessary for most of the last 6 years.
If mice can chew wires on a tractor that sits outside, their going to chew wires on a tractor inside a garage just as easily. Personally I have never had a problem and don't expect to.
After reading your post, I looked at Hematite's picture again and said. Theres no way that NH with it's canopy, is going to fit in that garage. Hematite confirmed my thought.

My tractor is ready for the most part. I just need to drop the bucket and hook up the plow.

Mark, You have a nice looking tractor (I drove by your place a week or so back but your PU was not there).

I agree on the mice- there isn't a mouse alive that can't squirm into most garages!

I am ready. No picture of the 22" walk behind blower but here is the main machine.

Chris

Nice!! :)

Tractor is ready, blower is ready, tested hydraulic chute rotator, so accept for the fact that the blower is still on a skid, we are good to go.

Will post pics, I promise.

Terrible storm; very light rain (barely sprinkling, in fact) and so cold it's down to 46F this afternoon.:D But it does appear to be pretty widespread with a forecast for a low tonight of 37F and a 100% chance of precipitation, although I don't know how much precipitation.:D

You guys get it all correct? Just outta High school, worked at a gas station, nice gent from Beaumont, Texas came through, and I asked him about the weather, and he told me they get a little bit of everything. He was headed home just in time, a couple of days later we got hammered with a storm.

The storm is here in Missouri, although it veered away from me going Northeast. Some very light snow with temps dropping to 25 deg. tonight. Tomorrow, high will be only 36 deg. with a low of 18 deg. Mike.

In my experience mice would rather be inside destroying stuff.

I'm ready. The plow is on the PT425 and backed into the garage facing out. The battery connections still need to be removed, cleaned and re-tightened and then the trickle charger connected. Here's a couple pictures of it from last year. :)

We're getting that storm tonight and tommorrow. For some bizarre reason, the temps are going up? Supposed to be in the 50's tommorrow here in lower NYS? Doesn't matter, it's only a matter of time.

On the other hand, you guys have some interesting snow equipment!:)

Always warms up before a snow storm. Just like the coldest time of the night is at sun up. :)

Looks like you are ready for a major snow storm. If I had to have a snowblower for all that much snow I would be moving further south. Luckily here in Missouri we usually don't get it that bad. Stay warm.

According to our local weather guys, the next week solid will be set up for lake enhanced, followed by lake effect snow. Just an inch by inch affair. So all the lake effect areas, Western Mich, N.E. Ohio, Western N.Y. etc, should expect the typical effect. Hope the ground freezes or its going to be a mess.
So, we're all ready. A bit late in coming, and that after a super warm November, but now, it seems, it's coming for real.

This is what I use out at the Farm.

Sometimes I need the neighbor's 200+ hp tractor to pull me out when I get stuck.

This only happens when I go to where I should not be in the first place.

I am learning...

Someday it would be nice if you would tell us about that stone barn in your pic. How old is it?, built with slip forms?, etc?
Dave.

The barn is over 100 years old and built the old world way.

It has been well maintained and should last another 100 years.

If you like, I can find more pictures including the 30' long 2000# beams used to replace the center girder - a big project.

Thanks,
I don't know why, but stone buildings always take my eye. They have a uniqueness to them like no other building material. I wouldn't have guessed it to be over 100 years old! I'll bet it has a couple hundred left in it if the walls are staying reasonably true.

Do you happen to know how the barn's foundation is built? Below frost depth, rubble in trench, or stones all the way down to the ground?

I have an itch to build something from stone that I will have to scratch someday. :) Always curious about how the oldtimers built their foundations for stone buildings. I have read that the old massive euro castles were built by digging down to solid bedrock and then building on that.

I would enjoy seeing more pics when it is convenient for you.
Thanks, Dave.

Thanks for the compliment. The tractor has actually been siting idle for a couple of weeks. Until there is something white to plow, it's on temporary vacation.
Sorry I missed you. If the truck wasn't here then I was out ramming roads somewhere here in town.

Here are just a few pics of the steel and concrete reinforcement.

The beams are used W10 x 68 x 30' - 2,000# each & substantial. Used to relocate houses.

Had to remove the old wood girder and replace with a structural steel girder. Cut a hole in the wall to shove the new beam in.

Made a new reinforced concrete pillaster at the wall (last pic), and new reinforced concrete piers and footings inside.

Used treated utility poles made the columns.

Pretty economical and stronger than ever. No charge for the engineering or labor.

Thanks for the pics. That was quite a job! Sounds like you made a good 'save' of the building. Those Toolcats look like something with lots of uses too.

Yooperdave,
What mfg plow do you have on the Bobcat? Does it float +/- a few degrees in up/down left right diretions or is it hard fixed?

Thanks
