Dipstick

Danny

Thanks Danny for the pic . I Never noticed that I guess becuase it sure doesn,t look like a dipstick . but I just went out & checked & it sure is. One more problem solved . :D .

Any Ideas on those 2 little vent looking tubes in the pics & if Theres a hose or tube of some type missing or not . Thanks again. Bob

There is a plastic tube that slips over the tube and goes under the seat, it's about a foot long and is left open. It's a vent.

Thanks again Danny thats what I was hoping to here . I,m Thinking I just overfilled it now. No Biggy as I need to drain it a few times & flush it anyway. I,ll put some tubes on it & Hopefully that will take care of it now that You pointed out where the dipstick is. Thanks again . Bob

Make sure you clean the screen for the hyd pick up while you have the oil drained out. I am not sure where that is on the 1300, but it should be under a cover somewhere there below where the larger hyd line that goes to the pump connects to the trans case.

The front knuckles are rebuildable with new seals, bearings and bushings. It maybe though that some things just need tightening up. I recently stopped a leak on my front drive axle by tightening the bolts that hold the knuckles onto the cross tube.

Thanks to All Your help . Update . I did have it overfilled . Brought it down to the correct level & no more coming out of those vents . it doesn,t even look as milky as it did the other day but I,ll drain & flush it just to be safe . Also I put new hoses on the vent tubes & tucked them under the seat so they cant get water in them.

The Wife took it for Her first test drive last night & I allmost couldn,t get Her off of it . But when She did come back an hour later she gave Me a list of Improvements she wants. I think I created a lil monster. :D . Bob
