Hello, all!

Here is a brief about how Montana Tractor has announced a move to Tarboro. Below is the article in its entirety.

Montana Tractors moving to Tarboro
W. TERRY SMITH, EDITOR

Montana Tractors is moving its operations from Arkansas to Tarboro.

Tony Pearce of Montana and Oppie Jordan of Carolinas Gateway Partnership made the announcement at the Tarboro Town Council meeting Monday night.

Montana's plan to move all production, service, part and logistical assets to Tarboro no later than July 30, stated Ted Wade, vice chairman and co-owner, in a news release.

Wade said Montana, which closed on the acquisition of Farmtrac North America assets Dec. 1, has been conducting "an extensive analysis on the capacity of the assets we purchased.

"As a result we have identified a tremendous amount of efficiencies we can realize through a consolidation of operations in Springdale, Ark., to our newly acquired facilities in Tarboro."

The move will mean new jobs in Tarboro, eventually.

Some employees will be offered the opportunity to relocate.

Pearce, director of operations and a former Farmtrac employee, said the company on Main Street currently had 16 to 18 full-time and contract employees and planned to hire more this month.

"After that, he said, we'll let the demand determine how many more people we add."

The company will assemble tractors and continue producing front-end loaders and backhoes.

The timeline for moving essential, administrative staff, accounting personnel and sales support from Springdale "is situational dependent at this point," Wade said.

Carolinas Gateway Partnership, the economic development agency for Tarboro, Rocky Mount, Nashville, Edgecombe and Nash counties, has applied for a $485,000 Building and Reuse Grant from the state Carolina Rural Economic Development Center.

Escorts to Merge U.S. Subsidiary With Itself
Mumbai, India Agri machinery products maker Escorts Ltd. says it will merge its U.S.-based, wholly-owned subsidiary firm, Escorts AgriMachinery Inc., with itself.

The board of directors approved the merger, a move that would result in restructuring the overseas operations as EAMI, which holds 100% stake in Farmtrac Tractors Poland, 78.25% in Beaver Creeks Holdings, USA and 49% in Farmtrac North America, USA, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The amalgamation, which is subject to requisite approvals, would also result in reduction in administrative costs and increase in operational efficiency, since unnecessary entities would be removed.

The appointed date of the proposed merger is April 1, 2009 and all assets and liabilities of the EAMI would become the assets and liabilities of Escorts with effect from the appointed date.

Still trying to figure out where LS fit's into all of this , are they soon to be open for business or not? Will their tractors wear the LS brand or maybe Montana brand ? or maybe Montana Limited brand? Somebody tell us something. Thank's.

Well Lineman, That seems to be the 64 thousand dollar question at this point, Even potential dealers are having a hard time getting a firm timeline from LS and Montana is fading fast in my crystal ball, don't see much future unless Teddy can pull a rabbit out of the Big T hat(or maybe an indian??)and it look like punjab might be pulling back into his shell and hunkering down for a while.
Wow, and these irate former farmtrac dealers! wonder what they'll stir up next???;):D stay tuned for the next chapter of "HOW THE TRACTOR WORLD TURNS".

Well, 15 days have passed, are we any closer to learning the real truth yet? Lots of "coded" messages but so little to hang my hat on. C'mon guys, we are behind you 100% in this battle but it is easier to "soldier on" when you know the facts.

Lineman, there are no clear answers right now, escorts is keeping a low profile right now ,but I don't anticipate a problem getting parts over the long haul(too much money to be made)LS should be on the scene shortly,They are just a bit too optimistic about timelines, taking more time than they thought it would.

The court cases involving Textron VS farmtrac dealers will also take time, but will be very revealing as to the scope of fraud and misdealing by escorts, farmtrac and Textron against it's dealers.Hopefully the fact of just how dedicated farmtrac dealers have been in protecting their customers, often paying out of their own pockets to keep the tractors repaired and working for the customer will also come to light.I have never,in all my 66 years met a more dedicated and honest group of people than the former farmtrac dealers.they have worked long and hard behind the scenes to uncover the facts and try to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again against dealers of any brand.and other brand dealers would be well advised to take note and support former farmtrac dealers in this endeavor, it could be their brand next, nothing is a sure thing in these times.

I would not worry too much though, for the most part dealers and most everyone associated with the farming industry are a tough, honest bunch and will do everything they can to take care of their customers.we'll get it done somehow.

Hey Blueliner! great to see you posting again and yes, you have the right article. kinda makes one wonder if there is any honest companies to deal with anymore.seems like sucess is measured in how many bucks you can screw the unsuspecting public out of in this day and time.

there are so many rumors out there now, no one knows what or who to believe. I've heard tales of Montana-Escorts, LS-Escorts, LS-Montana deals being in the works with a mixture of Textron and GE stirred in. it's ALL about money and the Small dealer and the customer be dammed. They will tell the dealer whatever it takes to get his or her signature on the dotted line. but when you start asking questions like" will you agree to abide by state buy-back laws" or carry in house floorplanning, they get hard of hearing and quick to go.

How can GE, Textron or any company give me any assurances of being a solid
business while standing in line at the white house with their hat in hand, begging for a taxpayer handout. and how can any Korean or Japanese company promise to supply tractors and parts on an extended basis, when they have a bonafide mental case sighting in on them with nukes right now.
if these jokers are so sure of themselves and everything will be hunky dory, then put the darn tractors on the dealers lot on consignment, don't ask the dealer who has already lost their shirt over this mess, to shoulder ALL the risk again.NOT THIS LOUISIANA BOY!!!
