It's pretty soft but I managed to make a couple scratches on my driveway loading it the first time. I should have turned the bucket the other way. It was only about 1/8" deep but... Hopefully that will be my only mistake.

Thanks

A word of caution, The hoe needs to be secured to the deck with chains as well. Even if it has a mechanical lock on the hoe. My tlb does and I never used to secure it figuring the lock designed by the manufacture was ok. That's until my local state trooper's decided to enlighten me. I was lucky to get a one time pass. I still feel the mechanical lock is more than sufficent but the officer and I discussed it at length and he pulled the fed dot book out to show me. Great pics and setup, happy hauling.

Nice rig. Glad to see you didn't buy that Econoline. That woulda been a mess.

How's that 8.1L pull? Dumbest thing GM ever did was stop offering it.

8.1 litres! That's flippin crazy big!

Greatwhite, I was told about the backhoe before I left. The pics were taken right after I loaded it up but before I was finished. I was too pumped to get it all hooked up before snapping a few shots.

Builder, the 8.1 pulls strong. The Allison makes all the difference. It rated right up there with the Duramax in 01. It's pretty far behind the newer models but at 345 Hp (give or take) and 455 lb ft (give or take again) it gets along pretty good. Mileage ain't all that hot but when I put my "happy foot" down I don't really care.

Just finished my first day. Got about 400 feet of road cleared. Not too shabby consideringI was alone.

Sun got me even with the ROPS and a hat. I'm glad I got the L48 instead of something smaller. Learned a LOT of don'ts but fortunately not the hard way. :)

Anyone make any goodies to open up that 8.1L a little & let her breathe? intakes, exhausts, maybe a power chip?

That engine is easily capable of >500HP and would make a sick big block gasser.

Oh yeah, I have a programmer, Gibson headers and cat back exhaust. 4.10 rear . A few other goodies I can't remember due to my "old timers" disorder. All that's why I have a "happy foot"

OMG, you must be over 400HP/550TQ. Unloaded I guess you can turn a new set of tires into melted goop pretty fast.....

Sweet :)

I have the "old timers disorder", too.
