I have been reading these sections for a while and would like to get everyone's opinion.

In this post I've included contents of a letter followed by some other info and questions.

To put it in a nutshell - I sent an email containing the following message to Kioti's Corporate office to which I've had no reply as of yet:

------------------------------

Greetings,

I am very interested in purchasing from your company.

I went to a local dealer and found the salesperson rude, insulting and arrogant. He did his best to steer me towards other name brands of tractors - actually, I feel - trying to pass off his stagnent, rusty inventory.

I live in the eastern part of North Carolina and the closest 5-Paw dealer is over 4 hours away, while I am only about 2 hours away from your Wendell office.

Is it possible to come by your office to see, if not purchase a tractor from you?

I am very interested in your products, as I find everyone else's lacking in comparison.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

------------------------------

And that's about it, other than I have Bobcat & John Deere dealers 10 minutes away and Kubota, Massey Ferg. dealers 30 minutes away.
I really don't want to deal with them.

Is it possible to purchase from out of state reasonably?

Thanks in advance to all,
Ken

Kioti does have 2 tractors out front on display you can see but I am not sure they allow the general public in their operations.
I know they will not sell parts or tractors to the public.
What model are you interested in?
Are there any questions I can answer for you?

You need to talk to Rick Wallace!!

I agree!

I don't own a Kioti, nor do they have a dealer in this area, but if I where to buy one then I would sure give Rick a shot at it! I have read alot of great comments from those customers he has helped, and like I said, if I were going to buy a Kioti, I'd give Rick a shot!

Kioti has several dealers within 50-70 miles of the Wilson NC home office. I.) 1. in Knightdale, 2.) 1 in Henderson NC, 3.) 1 in Colerain NC, 4.) 1 in Sanford NC and 5.) 1 in Roxboro NC. I wonder if this is someone trying to by pass the dealer and purchase directly from the Manafacture and is unhappy with Kioti's refusal to participate in a dealer by pass sale?

I did a long distance purchase from Rick Wallace,
yeah it was a long drive, but the local dealers where not up to par.

3 months latter, so far so good, 1 minor problem that Rick talked me through over the phone.

Figured they was dealers down in n.c.,[and I was right again!]

All you got to do is go to kiotis web site and they have a place to look for dealers.

Not trying to cut down on rick w's bussiness, but there are at least four kioti dealers within 1 1/2 drive of me here in southern w.va,[thats a lot closer than pa. from n.c..]

one down below lewisburg w.v.,one down in blacksburg va.,one in covington va.,one in rainell w.v.,and believe probably 2- 3 more in this area. And bet there are 7-8 more between me and poster.

Unless ricks offering these tractors at some kinda unbelievable low price, don't know why any body would want to drive 9 hours as opposed to 1 hour to buy same tractor.?

I'm in Indiana and I bought my tractor from Rick wallace. The tractor including shipping was considerably cheaper than my local dealer's price. maybe my local dealer is just trying to make alot more money by jacking up the price or maybe rick gets them cheaper and can sell them cheaper. Call me crazy, but I like saving money:D He was a pleasure to deal with and is highly recomended on this site too. I know of at least 1 other person on here who lives in Indiana and purchased a Kioti from rick wallace. I pm'ed him before I made my decision, and he said he was happy with his long distance purchase. Those are the reasons I chose wallace tractor.

Well,like I said[rick],not personely trying to cut your bussiness,so.

But was just stating the obvious,I bought mine from one of the two closest dealers. Wouldn't think of driving much over two hours to buy any tractor or car or truck, just don't make sense to me.Yeah, you might save a few hundred. But I like the fact that I can get in my truck and in 45 min be looking my dealer in the eye.

Plus,I don't have a trailer big enough to haul a ck30,nor would my f150 like doing it that much if I did have. I'm sure rick wouldn't deliver a tractor here free.[not with that rock bottom price you say he has anyways.]So there would be my few hundred savings.

people do business with people---in the end price is secondary----if they don't solve your problem you will not do business with them again---looks like rick can solve lots of problems over the phone that most dealers can't or won't solve eyeball to eyeball---knowledge is priceless when you need the answer and they will not give you the answer---they want to fix it in their shop-----but then again that is how MOST tractors dealers stay in business long term----selling parts and repair not new tractors!!!!!----you do want a dealer that stays in business long term don't ya????!!!!:D

NO! - I am not trying to bypass any legit business and I don't appreciate you implying so.

Did you maybe stop and think that one or more of these are the very ones I originally talked about?

What I am tired of is "dealers" who claim to be dealers of a particular brand who MIGHT have 1 tractor in stock and like some of my local dealers who have rusty inventory, coming with all the free muddabber wasp nest you stand, along with their crappy attitudes.
I don't expect anyone to carry everything - just something.

Maybe you can throw away $20,000, or maybe don't care - but I do. If I buy new - I want new - If I want battered and rusty - I'll pay accordingly.

I want to see to compare - I just don't think that's asking too much. If you are a dealer and can't handle that, then maybe you need a change of career or the at the very least an attitude adjustment.

As far as Kioti is concerned, they never answered my email. I'm new to tractor buying and did not know the situation, but I also didn't just fall off the cabbage truck, either.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Ken,

First off, a lot of people have written Kioti and not gotten a response. This is one area where they can do so much better.

As far as dealers, if you can't find one close by try a little further away. There's a good dealer in VA that frequents this website. And those mentioned by GreenMule aren't all that far away either.

I bought mine from Wallace, about 300 miles away. I test drove at a local dealer. But, I never even saw the tractor I bought until it arrived. I have never been to Wallace's store. So, I didn't drive one extra mile to make this purchase. Buying from a volume dealer, I knew it was brand new and not old inventory. Transaction negotiated via email, and I paid him when he showed up with the tractor. He drove through a snow storm to get it to me on the day promised and was very apoligetic about the salt that got on it along the way (I didn't care; it is a tractor after all). If there had been real surprises (like old inventory), I simply wouldn't have paid him. Even paying for shipping, I saved over $2500 over my local dealer, and didn't pay sales tax either. Decision has been very good so far. Mr. Wallace has taken good care of me even though I am far away.

Ken,well guess there are full time dealers and part time dealers??!!

You been to all five of those dealers, that gator said was in n.c.? Bet theres two or three between the n.c. border and blue field va. too.
Surly one around there will have a new in shape tractor at a fair price.
You might have to go to pa. and buy one after all!
But on your way stop around southern w.v. and va. area, might save you a 6 hour drive.

I too did my transaction with Rick (well really Amy) Wallace via Email.
1 phone call, a couple of emails, then I drove 6 hours in a rented box truck
($50 - unlimited millage), and picked up a fully prepped, shiny new CK20s.

No fuss, no muss

I know what you mean about not being able to find a dealer that will work with you. I went through the same thing when I bought mine. I don't know if you can deal with the Bobcat dealer or not but that would get you the same tractor. Or, maybe you buy a tractor from Wallace and you could get your parts from one of your local dealers. After going through the same thing as you all I can say is find a dealer who will work with you and who knows the customer is boss and go with them. You can get pricing pretty close at all of those places, it's the customer service that you want.
