Anyone added on of these? If so, is there a way to do this without purchasing the kit? The dealer quotes $520 for the kit. It is a 2005 model with the black belly. It has a 512 loader that has the block that ties into the hydraulics under the seat.

This rear scv kit would be another block that goes in the same place.

If you add this kit, I have been told that with the loader you can only have 1 set of remotes. Anyone have any different opinions?

Have you priced the Power Beyond kit, NOT the 3rd SCV kit? With it you can add any valve(s) you want.

This fella posted his receipt and the power beyond kit was $1746 not including hoses. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/113536-jd5105-series-owners-what-attachments.html

That's my fault since I wasn't sure what the power beyond was when you were talking in the other post. I'm not real familiar with John Deere or hydraulics.

My loader's joystick is mounted on the loader and has 2 ports under it that aren't being used. I'm not sure what they're for though, I was thinking that was power beyond.

The hoses from my loader go directly to a block that's under the seat which is where the rear scv kit would be placed.

That price is way off base...as indicated in that thread. The PB option should be less than $300.00.

How many hoses connect to your loader valve? If the answer is seven, then you can add another valve for just the price of new hoses and the new valve.

I think you are correct. I believe there are 7 hoses connected, 4 that go to the loader cylinders, and 3 that return to the hydraulic station below the seat.

There are 2 plugs that are beneath the joystick which I'm assuming you are referring to that I could use. I suppose one of those is a supply line and the other a return?

I may try to get some pic's for clarification if you could help. So I would just plumb out of there to a valve and then from there to the hydraulic connections to the rear?

Pics would be great! Worth a thousand words right?:D

Not sure about the ports, they may be just alternate IN and OUT ports as some valves have two each so you can use whichever ports fit the hose layout better, so the other two are plugged.

The port we are interested in is the one marked PB. That is the hose that you would add the new valve to.

Take some pictures, note the labels on the ports, and pick out a valve you like (or tell me how many you want and I will suggest one) and we will get you started. And tell me what your budget is.

Also, search these terms for LOTS of info on this...

OK, this is good stuff...

There are two options:
1. Price the PB kit from JD, (that will be the cleanest install) and use it to feed the new valve.

2. Take the PB line off your FEL valve, run a the line from the FEL valve PB port to the IN port of the new valve, then the PB port of the new valve to wherever the hose you removed connected to, then the OUT of the new valve to the tank. (you can trace the existing line from the FEL valve and Tee into it.)

Still need these questions answered please:
and pick out a valve you like (or tell me how many you want and I will suggest one) and we will get you started. And tell me what your budget is.

I would think 2 valves would be plenty. I don't plan to grapple, but do have a 10' row disc I'd like to pull as well as my JD 260 disc mower for hay and rake that folds up with hydraulics.

2 should be plenty IMO.

Thanks for all your help Kenny, it's greatly appreciated.

Any ideas what the PB kit looks like and where it would attach? I'm assuming prior to the loader valve and additional valves I add? I've searched for images but can't seem to find any.

The picture below is from JDParts.com. Looks like fittings go into the block that feeds the loader valve. You would extend hoses from these fittings up to a new valve mounted on the fender or ROPS. That's why I said it would be a "cleaner" install because you won't need hoses running all the way to the loader valve.

From the JD site it looks like your pump is rated for 18.2 GPM, so the new valve and hoses you add must be rated for that-you don't want to put a valve on that only rated for say 10 GPM as overheating could result.

Edit: Forgot to add picture!

I found a valve that would fit the bill for you, one spool even has a float detent which may be useful for your disc or mower.

I have the dealer looking it up to see what it would cost, etc. They weren't too sure exactly which part, or if it was a sales part. Hopefully they'll get it figured out.

If not, I may have to go the other route and run the line from the PB port on the joystick like you mentioned. It's really not an issue since it would just follow the existing lines that are already there if I had to go that route.

Then I have to find some receptacles or connections with mounting plate to mount it somewhere on the back.

The price I just got quoted was $681 for the kit. That's $160 more than the Rear SCV kit. I might call another dealer to see what they come up with.

That sure does not sound right to me!

Depending on where you can mount the new valve, you may just be able to use some fittings and 90's right off the valve to mount the QD's, I did this on mine as well as some others have done the same thing.

I'm assuming I'll need one of the power beyond couplings to tie into the new valve such as: Burden Sales Surplus Center

So I would remove the hose entirely that runs from the PB port on the tractor to the PB port on the joystick/loader.

Run from the PB port on the loader to the In port of the new valve.

Run the PB port on the valve with the coupling above back to the port where I removed the hose from the PB port on the tractor.

Run the out port back to the tractor and Tee into the existing port that comes from the loader.

Does that seem right?

Well, I just ordered that valve and PB coupling so hopefully it will be here by Friday. Then I'll need to figure out what other fittings I'll need. I'm hoping the hose I remove from the existing PB port will reach the new valve. I still haven't received a price from the other dealer what the PB kit would cost.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Once you get the valve, figure the mounting out and then start measuring for hoses.

I got the valve in today and got a quick question. Will using it in this fashion prohibit the use of the 3PH at all? I've seen other threads mentioning that and was a little worried. I wouldn't think so since the PB is actually connected now?
