I move a lot of wood chips with my CK20HST, and prefer to leave the KB2365 BH off to save ground damage. It also make close maneuvering easier, and reduces concerns about backing the hoe into things like the house. It's just about possible to drive safely with a full load of wet chips, but lifting them out of a pile is dicey.

I'm too cheap for a ballast box, so tried this quick fix. I figure the pine log weighs about 200 lbs wet, and it seems to work fine. (Might use a bigger piece of oak next time for more weight.) Clearance cuts are to ensure that it can never hit the capped rear hydraulics. Spikes were left by a mason.

This does leave the rear wheels a bit light, so I'm hoping there's enough ballast to let me plow snow with the BH off.

...and if you ever need a bit of firewood.. you know where it is!

I would saw a slot in it for the chainsaw and embed an axe in it for good measure...
redneck or sure!

Redneck Engineering or Yankee ingenuity? Different times, different expressions. Either way it adds up to more money in your pocket!:D

I soooo miss Ren and Stimpy. As well as Beavis and Butthead
Congratulations. I was disappointed no one picked up on it earlier. And as you know:
Everyone loves a log.
You're gonna love a log.

The perfect gift for this Christmas season.

Howdy partner,

"Redneck" has many definitions due to it's enormous sophistication. one of which is, " a redneck is a person that mounts his deer head to a piece of 2x4 with a couple sheet rock screws in lieu of proper taxidermy ". I have earned the title from my esteemed colleagues at work on many occasions.:D:D

P.S By the way, My two thumbs up on "ballast design", quite utilitarian and perfectly "green". I'll probably work on the 3 .pt mount design to make it a bit beefier and interchangeable.
