Kubota M59, JD530, JD310SG. Restoring Yanmar YM165D
Did anyone get this precleaner option with their tractor? Is it available on other Kubotas as well? I've had centrifugal filters - some call them hurricane filters - on a couple of other tractors but not on the M59, and was wondering about adding it. Typically these filters are kinda bulky and I don't see where it would fit. Does anyone else have experience with centrifugal air filters?
thanks, rScotty

I bought one for my M8950--86 HP--and loved it. It came with a stack and bowl and came up through the hood. I used to do a lot of dusty ag stuff so it really saved my air filters by taking out a lot of the heavier dust and dirt.
If I did dusty ag stuff I would get one but that's just my opinion.

yep, got it, at 60 hours I've about half filled the bowl with dirt - I think they are pretty useful, judging from how much dust I've collected.

Sticks up from the hood a bit - not all that noticeable.

That was my experience with one on another tractor. That one trapped a lot of dirt and kept the paper filter clean. Do you have a photo that shows it? From the drawing in the parts list it looks easy enough to mount, but it is hard to tell if doing so requires cutting holes in the hood or side panels.

Mine came with the tractor.

Should be standard equipment.

I believe it depends what options the dealer asked for when he orders the machine. I'm told that Kubota will put the options on without charging? the dealer the shop hourly rate if the machine is ordered with them. Then the options get tacked onto the base price. For instance mine came with the drawbar and 3pt hitch and the hood protector plus an extra BH bucket - and those were thrown into the negotiations on the price along with an extended warranty....but it did not have the optional $197.00 precleaner or the three rear remote outlets. We don't have dusty air here, but I'm probably going to add the precleaner just for fun. Before I order it I want to know if it just bolts up or requires some mods to the the sheetmetal. The dealer doesn't know, but I figure we can tell from pictures.

I don't think the dealer charged me for it. I believe they order their backhoes with the pre-cleaner.

As posted, for such an expensive top of the line backhoe loader the "options" list it just rankles me. My L39 three point was included but not on their M59?

the "options" were not my favorite thing about the m59.

I'll add this to the list of pictures I really need to take.
