I have had 5 tractors and only 1 wife.. whadayathink? Redneck? :D

Yes and no. Temporary status as wanna-be Redneck granted, but in order to maintain membership you'll have to pay in big $$ to a fund I administer, equal to what I determine 3 more wives would have run you to date...
Please PM me your SS# and banking access info.

This is a really great site!
I am putting together my spreadsheet so that I can get everything on one sheet to compare. At this point I feel pretty comfortable which ever way I end up going. If I go for the CK 35 or the G3038 it lets me put some money towards some implements though they will probably be a little smaller than I would get for the DK. Looking at the DK40 and the LS R3039 I would just go for the DK for the extra 2K. I really like the DK's features.
Both tractors sizes will keep my 6 acres brush hogged though it may take a few more passes with the CK/LS G. They will both handle a tiller or harrow or what ever I end up with to rejuvenate the parcels of the 2 acres that need the fields fixed a couple of times a year and actually the CK/LS G has a bit of an edge for going into the other 60acres of woods that I have. But only for maneuverability not hauling logs/wood out, which I do a little of now.
Always nervous before I pull the trigger but afterwords..

Thank Gents
McD

The LS R3039 is really the wrong model to compare to a DK40...the R4041 would be the appropriate model to compare. The 3039 is a good machine, but smaller than the 4041 or DK40.

Im actually in the same boat, OP. Im looking at the DK 40/45 series or the LS R4041/4047, as GManBart said the R3039 is a smaller tractor then the 41/47. From what Ive gather is the Kioti has a better loader (better capacity and higher lift) and has the rear 3pt control. While the LS has standard 2 rear remotes, big tires, more power at the PTO (model vs model), 16 gears vs 12 gears if you're going with the shuttle shift, which is what Im going as the 4 different dealers Ive shopped all said go with the shuttle, and only one had a HST in stock.

Im about to pull the trigger myself, I cant figure out what one though as price is mute point as there's almost zero difference in cost.

Here is my feeling on the bigger R4 tires on the LS 12-16.5/17.5L24......I think they are to wide for the weight of the tractor and offer to much flotation.

I believe the R4s on the Kioti...10-16.5/14.9-24 offer better traction with more ground pressure, and are better suited to the weight of the tractor. JMO:)

Have you owned an R4047H with the larger tires? If not, how would you know there's too much flotation or not?

I ran a DK50SEHC side-by-side with an R4041H in snow and mud, and didn't see any significant difference in traction, or flotation.

For some people, the larger tires, and extra flotation is a plus...trying not to tear up their property.

I have gone back and forth on this in my own mind, as I've dealt with this personally with my recent change ... I now have the same tires as the DK40/50.

What I've come to personally feel, is that the 14.9x24 rears give better traction than the 17.5Lx24 rears (but the 17.5's float better for less rutting). But, the taller/wider 12x16.5 fronts are more stable and I prefer them over the 10x16.5 fronts.

My two cents.

No I haven't, maybe I should worded it differently..."I believe the 10-16.5/14.9-24 are better suited to the weight of the 40 to 50 horse tractor offering more ground pressure, equaling better traction in most situations than the the 12-16.5-17.5L24 combo on the LS would" I don't have to own a LS tractor to know this, this is also why the AG tires for both of these rigs are skinnier than the r4s..ground pressure...bite..;)

FYI, Case ran the 17.5L24/12.16.5 combo on the 4x4 580s for many years, before switching to the 19.5L24 rear....They are ALOT heavier than the LS or Kioti

This is just my opinion, folks can take it or leave it, or think about it and see if it makes sense to them:).

For some people, the larger tires, and extra flotation is a plus...trying not to tear up their property.

I agree with you, however I still think the 14.9=24/10-16.5 R4 combo is the sweet spot between traction, and minimal damage.

Just my :2cents:
