Zeroing in on LS or Kioti but I have some ?

Has everyone forgotten that the OP only has 6 acres of land to deal with. He therefore couldn't have enough animals to justify using round bales.

My one neighbor has ten acres, but only uses 5, and she gets round bales delivered for her horses.

Ran off to that thread. As usual, thoughtfull analysis. Then I looked at the date. Good grief, TSO, you've gone through 3 brands and 4 tractors in a year?

I'm thinking you don't really like tractors. . .

Bob
I went there also There might be an intervention needed!;)

This is a really great site!
I am putting together my spreadsheet so that I can get everything on one sheet to compare. At this point I feel pretty comfortable which ever way I end up going. If I go for the CK 35 or the G3038 it lets me put some money towards some implements though they will probably be a little smaller than I would get for the DK. Looking at the DK40 and the LS R3039 I would just go for the DK for the extra 2K. I really like the DK's features.
Both tractors sizes will keep my 6 acres brush hogged though it may take a few more passes with the CK/LS G. They will both handle a tiller or harrow or what ever I end up with to rejuvenate the parcels of the 2 acres that need the fields fixed a couple of times a year and actually the CK/LS G has a bit of an edge for going into the other 60acres of woods that I have. But only for maneuverability not hauling logs/wood out, which I do a little of now.
Always nervous before I pull the trigger… but afterwords..

Thank Gents

Lol, no I , think the problem is that I like tractors too much! I would probably have 5 tractors if I had the money... and likely they would be 5 different brands

For just a couple of head of animals, you get too much waste with round bales. What doesn't get ate in a day, get tromped into the mud over a weeks time. It takes at least 10 head of cows to eat up a round bale in 1-2 days with a lot of it going to waste even in a hay ring. With the small square bales, you can put them in a V shaped hay rack and loose little to none of it on the ground but it does take some handling with square bales. Folks have just gotten too lazy to work with animals even on a small scale, so everything has to be done with equipment.
