Anybody using one of those everride warriors or hornets? I want a real good zero to make my grass cutting experience as short as possible. Have no idea what to get. They claim the everrides have bigger pumps and superior deck design. I have zosyia grass in front that needs to look real good and then the side and back yard is rough with a lot of trees with some grass and a lot of weeds and debri. May also have to start cutting 5+ acres for my dad one of these days.
thanks already /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

mjoiner,

Welcome to TBN!!

Since these are relatively new, I honestly haven't heard much about them. The parent company has been making great stuff for years but their venture into the ZTR market is new.

It seems like a stout machine and comparable to other commercial grade mowers.

A couple things I would consider.
Do you have local support from a dealer? Have the guys in the shop been trained on how to work on them?

You didn't put a location in your profile so I don't know where you live (terrain, rain...). Is the weight of the machine a consideration? The warrior weighs in at 1187 pounds and is comparable to some of the other large commercial machines. Other decent sized ZTR's are closer to 850-950#.

Do you need to trailer it to get to your Dad's? If so and you already have a trailer, make sure the mower is a "drive on - drive off". Some decks have a hard time getting over the lip where the ramp transitions onto the trailer deck.

Sorry, I have not even heard of that brand. But, I did a lot of shopping last year before I purchased my ZTR.
Exmark and Scag both make excellant commercial grade ZTR's. I was set to buy an Exmark, but had no local dealer support. Then I found Scag, and don't feel that I settled, I think the two are top of the line ZTR's.
I also looked at the Kubota Z21, diesel ZTR. Awesome machine. But the diesel advantage would have cost me about 3 grand extra. Couldn't afford that.
Grasshopper makes one that is rated very highly, but I could not catch the only dealer at his shop. Didn't seem like a good sign. Also I've heard good stuff about the Dixie Chopper ones.
ZTR mowing is awesome.

Here's a pic of my Scag Wildcat. 61" deck. 27hp Kohler V-twin.

I agree on both points.

I got the Dixie Chopper. I was going to get a Scag but couldn't pass up the deal I got for the DC.
