Zerks and tears

Hmm, I don't think I've had to replace a zerk on my equipment for 30 years. I have a big supply of zerks just in case too.
Same here, never replaced one, and never really have a problem with zerks taking grease. Certainly no tears. :)

I got lucky.
A buddy, who likes to wheel and deal, bought many cases of synthetic grease at a bargain lot price.
He nicely let me have a couple of cases @ $10 per case of 12. so I'm OK for quite a while.

PS, he's the same guy that gifted me ($25) a Lincoln power grease gun*, (The one that was so baked hard that I had to pry out the dry clay base grease)

*@ $25 I considered that a gift!

Get an electric grease gun, you won’t regret it. I’ve never had a zerk that wouldn’t take grease, I must be lucky. My pet peeve was getting a new cartridge started on a manual grease gun.

Ha! I might dread putting in a new grease cartridge more than going to the dentist!!!

I did replace grease gun tip and got the last 4 zerks. I’m never sure how much to pump into universals.

I greased tractor often so don’t normally have any issues with that. But I am getting locked up solid on front axle pivot point. It’s not the tip or the zerk as no leakage. Not sure if I can put heat gun on it for a minute if that would help. The atv was the battle

Jack the machine up, and get the pressure off the pin.

Some tractors notably Kubota's have a grub screw you remove and you pump grease until it comes out the grub screw hole.

Yeah this one just has the zerk. But none escapes the zerk or tip. And can’t get a pump in at all. Anything go hurt if I warm up with a heat gun. What Type of bushing is there?

The front wheels of my John Deere have to be off the ground before grease will go in that pivot point.
Yeah I tried that too. Even pivoting while pumping. Though I might try it again this evening.
