1943 Cat D6, I'm the 3rd owner. Paid $2000 for the tractor, 12' disc, 6 yard pull can scraper, 3 shank 30" sub-soiler. Don't get me wrong, I know that this stuff was worn out. 2 days of messing with the Cat, and drove it on the low bed.
Pulled the radiator and built a new lower radiator outlet, re-install, did a major fluid change and adjust the tracks. Tractor paid for itself the 1st year that I disked the property. Now the disc was a different story. They literally fell apart before I had 5 acres done. $2200 later though, I have a completely rebuilt John Deere offset disc with sealed bearings.
Before I got the Cat, I was using my Case 310E dozer most of the time. A 1955 model I believe. Hopefully in the future I will be doing a lot of work with my Mahindra 7520 and exceed the hours spent with the Cat when disking the property.
