Sorry. My mistake. You can see the decompression lever to the left, a little higher.

Hate giving or getting wrong information.

I had one of those china silent generator's & very familiar with them.
The compression release is on top of the engine and you can't get to it from there.
I had to cut an opening in the top of the housing in order to use it. Cost cutting move for them!

Ok, THAT explains a lot !!!! :banghead: :duh: :irked:

No tweaks!
I use Rotella 5w40 and 100psi is normal cold 50~60psi hot.
There is no pressure regulator so this is normal.

Those controls are the same as mine and others I've worked on.
The red lever on the right is not the decompression lever it is the manual release for the throttle.
When engine is running if that lever on the right is pressed it will release the throttle shutting the engine down.
The decompression lever is on the valve cover which is inaccessible.

That jives with what my friend has to say about the actions of the the red levers on his. What I can't figure out yet is what that small brass lever on the bottom of that little box does.....

And, let me guess..... until you use the innaccessable decompression lever correctly then you stand a snowball's chance in Hades of getting it to fire  on these units.....

Can't write what I'm thinking about this lame manufacturer.... don't want to get suspended here.....

I have seen on You Tube some brand new portable Chinese Diesel generators just destroy themselves within minutes. Looked like leaking valves. Interesting but sad.

The decompression lever is an oddity, no? Does any tractor have one?

The OEM starters on real yanmars have no problem turning over the engine without the compression release.
The China starters are much weaker and have trouble getting the engine to turn the first revolution.

The compression release saved me once. My tractor that’s 30 miles for civilization had a dead battery and I desperately needed to mow. The battery wouldn’t take any charge and I was failing at boosting it. There was too much amperage lose and it just wasn’t going to turn fast enough to start. Then I had the idea to pull the compression release and get it spinning then close the release. With kinetic energy in my favor it turned over fast enough and fired up. They’ll always kill a runaway diesel.

One of my Kubota's has one and it's pretty handy to let the motor spin in extreme cold to help build oil pressure AND to put less load on the starter before starting.

Lots and LOTs of engines come/came with compression releases...

my Echo 600 chain saw has one, good thing, break your arm if you don't use it.
but that's my only compression release on a lot of small motors. Sounds like a great idea
