Most bills for something like fuel are due 30 days after they are sent AKA net 30.
so someone can only ignore it for 30 days before they would stop getting more fuel sent because their account was past due.

Just had a 2 hour generator run last night. 1,000 homes were affected. Not sure what happened. Was 23 outside... toasty warm inside.

We have a portable rather than a whole house, but man it is nice to know it is there on nights where 23 is the high. Like you guys we can get nights of minus temps. House would get cold awful fast in those conditions. Spring has almost sprung here, so time to think about the annual oil change and a maintenance run on ours.

mine also controls heated horse water tanks in barn. those units only hold less than a gallon of water at a time. would not take too long to freeze. i spent over $2,500 putting those units in. Also thermometer showed 23...but wind was over 20 MPH. not sure what wind chill temp was. All i know is it was bone numbing. Then today it nearly hit 60F during the day. this weather swing is driving me nuts.

Got ya! We use heated buckets in our barn. So we can go the old school route of breaking ice w a hammer if needed.

That wind chill is brutal. We had a very mild winter this year w only a couple days like that. Usually we have many of them.

We put in a Miraco Lil'Spring 2900 (Lil'Spring 29 - 6 Gallons – Miraco Waterers) when we put up our barn a couple of years back and it has only had a skim of ice on it a few times. No plugin in heat needed until it got down near zero for a week with nasty winds (then we had a skim of ice on the sides and decided to plug in a 150 watt "chicken waterer heater" so that we didn't have to break the ice or worry about the valve freezing up).
