In the late 70s I worked for a woman who had a CB radio in her Cadillac!

I repaired those in business.

Great thread! Can't believe I just found it.

Getting old is:

1. Having to pee, while you're peeing.
2. Sitting on the toilet, and having your nuts hit the water.

And on that subject...


I did that in grade school!

Speaking of nuts for me it started about 10 years ago (early 60s?) tie my shoes I thought someone kicked me there! When I have to pee it's like R I G H T N O W...only to have a 1/16" stream and 5-10 minutes!
As a teen it was like a garden hose & 20 seconds!

I had the surgery for that... it took me 10 years and 3 doctors, and by then I really needed to do something. I was passing blood clots and the first doctor told me it was "concentrated urine."

See a doctor about it. While it could be signs of prostate cancer, it could also just be an enlarged prostate, squeezing the life out of your tubing. I take two medications for that. Everything works great now.

But best to get it checked if you already haven't.

I had the rotorooter procedure (called turp, sp?) done about 15 years ago for the gotta go NOW and the need to go every 10-15 minutes. It was an enlarged prostate and for awhile after the surgery all was good but for the last several years I have reverted back to the NOW and OFTEN. Doc says everything checks out and cannot understand why it is happening. Tried every drug prescribed for (and some not) the frequent need to urinate and some OTC supplements, nothing has helped. It doesn't help that I am prone to kidney stones and must drink often but still I have many times urinated, walked to the mailbox (50 yards) and have to go again. If I need to go to town I make sure not to drink anything for a few hours prior to leaving which aggravates the kidney gravel pit.

I have decided I must have a tea cup bladder.

There are 3 spellings of our family's last name here in North America. Anyone that spells it like I do are pretty closely related. The 2nd spelling are all 1st or 2nd cousins. The 3rd way are more recent to this continent from the old country.

Other than my own immediate family, and my grandfather's cousin I don't know of anyone with my last name. I Googled it once, and didn't come up with anyone I didn't know. Once my oldest sister and I go, there will be none of us left with that name...neither my brother nor I had any kids (that I know of). What few descendents there are all came from female family members and have different last names.

Myself, I had a heck of a time when I turned 65 and it was time to sign up for Medicare and Social Security. One of the questions asked to prove my identity was my mother's maiden name. But the spelling of what I wrote down (what was on my mother's naturalization certificate) and what Social Security had in their files was very different. Yet the name sounded the same when spoken. Took a bunch of correspondence, including some from the embassy in Austria, to get that cleared up.

You were fortunate in that records existed. In her later years my mother got into genealogy, and she ran into a lot of dead ends where records in the old country no longer existed. Both her and my fathers ancestors came from eastern European countries.

I got this tip from a friend, his friend got this advice from his doctor. Take Saw Palmetto and Phosphatidyl Serine to shrink an enlarged Prostate gland. I found it in a Men over 50 daily supplement from GNC called Mega Men Essentials 50 plus. It worked for me. I lost the frequent urgent need to urinate and post urination dribble within a couple of months of taking this.
I can now hold my bladder and the stream is strong again. I can't believe I posted that but it's true and I hope this helps as all aging men experience some enlargement - this shrinks the prostate.

There are alot of essential minerals and vitamins in that supplement that boost the immune system, digestion, and increase energy among other things. The bottle is a 60 day supply, I saw improvement long before the bottle was empty. GL and tell a friend.

Don't ever do a DNA test unless you are ready and willing to acknowledge new family members! I took a DNA test a few years ago just to find out if I had any genetic disease markers I should be aware of. And found out that at my ripe old age I have a daughter and grandchildren! In my case it turned out well; I've bonded with my new family and love them dearly. In a lot of cases though, finding out information like this has caused major family disruptions.

Double bonus for me in taking this DNA test...found out I have no genetic disease markers to contend with, and gained me a whole new family.
