york rake

Needed a york rake for final grading and seeding around my new pond, just didn't want to spend the money for a new one to use once. Finally found a "used" one today for $250, never been used. I'll post some finish pics after the weekend.

Wish I was so lucky to find a used york rake or even more a box blade. I just had my pond cleaned out and spent a good 30 hours grading the sides. It looks great,, just need to grade around the outside to get rid of the ruts from the excavator.

What width and manufacturer? Was it a real York?

Every now and then if one is patient one can get "lucky". I got my Woods LR108 for "free"/barter, but I had to dig it out from under a junk pile. It has 2 guage wheels, a couple of slightly bent tines, is missing 2 tines, and was used hard; but the frame is still solid and it works. I can not argue about the price ! Jay

I just picked this one up, I have been after the owner to sell it to me ever since he let me borrow it about two years ago, it's 72" Land pride, all good tines, with the wheels which make things much much easier especially for green horns, only catch is I had to buy the whole package (tractor and rake)
Paid $2,000. figured I'd turn around and sell the ford 1700 for at least the $2,000. I paid for it, the only problem is now after I cleaned it up I like the tractor to.

I'm so spoiled with my 4310 E-everything that this little standard (12/3) is kinda like back to basics, and it has such a nice clatter to it with its 2 cylinder diesel that I almost want to keep it, I'm already getting greedy thinking how much more than $2,000. I can ask for it.

Nice looking tractor. I have a 1300, '83 model 4x4. It's amazing to me that after 24 yrs of use, always being parked outside, that the seat is still in great shape, looks just like yours. I've been following your posts, sounds like you got a very good deal.

If this 1700 was 4x4, I would not think of selling it!! what's the HP rating on your 1300? the 1700 is around 25 I think.

16 if I remember correctly. Bought new in 83 for 5500.00. I could probably get my money back if I wanted to sell it. I'll have to check my manual, and I think it also covers yours.

To bad everything didn't hold it's value like good old tractors, I could be on the high side on the 1700's HP rating it's more of a guess, and ya I could use that manual right about now as I just found out the charging system is not charging, I have to go back to the ford forum, JC over there knows the 1700 inside and out maybe he can get me going on a quick diagnosis.
