York Rake Guide Wheels

Question: Wouldn't the rake arm need to extend further back to provide more leveling? It looks like Rosseel's are pretty short, right up close to the rake. Would one need to extend them out further back? Or am I wrong in my assumption?

I agree. I took off my gauge wheels and used one of them to make a tailwheel. It extends about 4 feet behind the rake. It does a much better job of leveling.

I know this isn't a rake, but this is an idea, I am working on for my box blade. The box blade has the same issue the rake has. The tractor's rear tire has too much control of the up and down movement. I will send a working PDF file if you email me. The pdf file is to large to post.

after a lot of help from TBN i started my build.

Picture #1 Brackets that fit the holes of the tines
Picture #2 Square tubing for over the tines support
Picture #3 Square tubing for legs
Picture #4 Welded up, Lincoln Mig .030 wire Argon Mix
Picture #5 1/2" nuts that accept 1/2" bolt to hold and adjust legs
Picture #6 Gussets for added strength when pulling forward
Picture #7 Caps to keep water out and stop the legs from falling through
Picture #8 Just have to buy some tires, wait for the mud to dry up and try them out

Nice work! Are you building the casters or buying? Whatever you do, post pictures when is done and painted. Those welds look mahvelous to me!
