Well I pulled the trigger and bought the YM 226 that I was looking at. I bought the tractor and bushog
for $3500.00 cash. The only thing that I found other than non-functioning headlights is the valve cover gasket leaks a little oil. I have a couple of Yanmar newbie questions.

Is the valve cover gasket hard to change? Where can I get the gasket?

Are there any crossover part numbers for the air and oil filters on the YM 226?

I searched through the old posts but came up empty. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

A YM226 isn't a gray model, so you can go directly to an authorized Yanmar dealer, unlike most of us with gray units.
I don't know where you are because your profile isn't filled out, but you can go to Yanmar's web page and find a distributor in your area.

I have had to replace valve cover gaskets on two YM1110D's. On the 2T72 engine in them, the valve cover gasket is a rubber o-ring thingy with a round cross-section formed to the right shape for the valve cover. They both leaked and I ended up putting a very thin layer of rtv on the gasket and then installing the valve cover. This took care of the leak.
