What size bushhog would my little 20 hp
Tractor be able to handle

I have a YM1500, 15 HP, and I use a 48 inch brush hog with no trouble. I keep the blades sharp, I have 240# on the front for weight and I don't go too crazy with it. I have a 5 foot finish mower also, and it pulls that with no trouble at all.

I have a YM 1700, and also use a 48" bushhog, I think you need about 25 horsepower before you go to a 60". At least that is what I'm told.

My 1700 will pull a 5' in grass only... regular grass at that.. none of that 3' tall stuff...

I had a ym195. I had a 5' bushhog and 5' finish mower I used with it. They worked ok but if you have tall or heavy grass, you have to go very slow.
