At least he died doing something he enjoyed but it's going to be tough for the ones left to deal with it... especially his girlfriend.

What a shame, hadn't heard about that. Our pond ice is just thick enough to tempt someone out on it, but it doesn't look too strong with the melt and rain lately. In fact in our small beaver pond, it looks like a beaver poked its head up through the ice in one spot a couple days ago, although I am curious about that.
