I know I've said this before, but what a beautiful place to build you home and shop. Just wonderful!
Yup...we were really lucky. When we bought a little over a year ago, we thought we overpaid a bit, but really wanted the place - it was a real stretch for us, we couldn't have afforded any more than we offered.
In just one year, property in this area has almost doubled. We couldn't afford it today...our timing was very fortunate.
Dreading the tax bill, though...no Prop 13 protection in WA like we have in CA. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The contractor has just about finished his work, but we've got a bunch more to do. For now, we've got just enough money left to paint the exterior.
Over the next couple years, we'll build out the interior on a pay-as-we-go basis. Progress will be slower, but we're in no rush...just have to have things done come 2011 when retirement hits.
Here's the first of a few pics - if anyone is interested, there are a bunch more in higher resolution at my personal site.
