Been using yellow JD tractor seats for 50 years, no bug problems & don't burn my backside when in the hot sun! YELLOW is the only color for a tractor seat!!!~~ grnspot
Buy a seat cover for $20 plus they are stylish. It is easier to wipe the grease off your fingers on cloth and then once in awhile, throw it in the wash.
So grnspot, that 720 came out with yellow seats back then? My farming background is 55+ years ago and my parents or neighbours never owned a JD. I remember David browns, Case, Fordson Majors, Allis Chalmers, Internationals etc etc but don't remember anyone owning a JD in our district. And before anyone says it... No there were no Kiotis either. (I grew up in New Zealand)
I saw a yellow cloth seat cover somewhere not to long ago.
Remember Google is your friend! ...
Aesthetics I think.:confused2: ... They look good enuf to me, but the sun eats em too fast.Color has nothing to do with ergonomics. Deere has been using yellow seats well over a half-century. You are supposed to put your butt on the seat, not your greasy fingers.
