Buy a seat cover for $20 plus they are stylish. It is easier to wipe the grease off your fingers on cloth and then once in awhile, throw it in the wash.

So grnspot, that 720 came out with yellow seats back then? My farming background is 55+ years ago and my parents or neighbours never owned a JD. I remember David browns, Case, Fordson Majors, Allis Chalmers, Internationals etc etc but don't remember anyone owning a JD in our district. And before anyone says it... No there were no Kiotis either. (I grew up in New Zealand)

New JD owner, would like to keep the seat clean. I can't seem to find seat covers on the JD site. Will any old aftermarket cover roughly 20" high and 16" long fit a 1026R seat, or are sizes more precise? Local auto parts store had nothing like that, but there seem to be plenty on Amazon, eBay, etc.

Thanks-

JD has several nice seat covers is various sizes. Here is the part # for the one that fits a 3320 O/S. I don't have it anymore so cannot say if it is 20" high.

Sorry, I didn't notice your question before! John Deere started using the yellow seats with the 20 series, before that, they were black. ~~ grnspot

I saw a yellow cloth seat cover somewhere not to long ago.
Remember Google is your friend! ...

Thanks - that's where I started. Just not sure what cover will fit, since the JD SCUT is too new to be on anyone's compatibility list - including JD's own site, for most things. Dealer didn't know, and covers seem to be non-returnable once opened.

Perhaps I should rephrase the question: could anyone here please advice if the 1026R seat is the same size as some other JD model (including lawn tractors), or as some other popular seat for which aftermarket covers are sold?

Thanks-

Color has nothing to do with ergonomics. Deere has been using yellow seats well over a half-century. You are supposed to put your butt on the seat, not your greasy fingers.
Aesthetics I think.:confused2: ... They look good enuf to me, but the sun eats em too fast.
