The Yanmar YT3 is leading my short list. I would like to hear from folks who've looked at them whether or not you took the plunge or headed elsewhere.

I get that the dealer network isn't as mature as the big 3. That can be a negative; it can also mean that they will work harder to win. My area seems to have reasonable dealer support.

Their rock solid diesels are what made me look.
The I-HMT Transmission has my interest.
The axle systems put it another notch higher.

While the cab is super nice - I am only considering the ROPS version.

What made or broke the deal for you?

I am otherwise considering a Deere 3033r, 4044r, Kubota L3560 or similar.

I looked at them and they're at the top of my list right now too. Yanmar's 100 year history and reputation of building exceptional Diesel engines is what first drew me in. I also like that they build the entire machine from the ground up. I'm curious about their new transmission and like that they're being innovative.

For your 50-100 acres, I'd be considering the YT359 ROPS.

Yes, I am currently having trouble deciding between the Yanmar YT359 ROPS or the Kubota Grand L 5460 ROPS...I think I have it narrowed down to these 2 units...

Both are very nice units. The YT359 should put more power to the ground with the 5 extra horses and the more efficient iHMT. Comparing the YT359 to the L6060 might be more of an apples to apples comparison. I'd have to compare specs/prices but don't have time at the moment.

I narrowed it down to the L 6060 and the YT359, went with the Yanmar and I am totally 100% happy with the choice. A big deciding factor was the options, the Yanmar comes with everything, the L6060 seemed to need lots of options to make it comparable which made it more money for the same tractor.

Congrats! That YT359 looks to be an awesome machine. Post some pics and let us see it.

awesome, congrats! I'm going to go look at a YT347 this week, (they dont have the YT359 in stock). I just want to drive it around and see it in person.

Overall I likes the YT347 when I looked at them. What turned me off was when test running it went into some kind of limp mode and would not rev up to do any work. The dealer was very new to the machine and could not figure out what was going on with it. I suspect it wanted to regen but I wasn't about to spend an hour reading the owners manual to figure it out so I simply went on to look at the Massey and LS that were next in line.

The a/b mode was set which governs max rpm and ground speed, you can change it with the dial.
