Yanmar Y1510D

I have just purchased a Y1510D. I noticed on recent post some discussion concerning the cooling system on these tractors. Is it true that all 1510s do not have water pumps?

I believe that your tractor circulates coolant via thermosyphon.
In order for the system to work correctly you'll want to be sure
that you're using a 70/30 water/antifreeze mix.

If you're going to really work the tractor (brush hog/plow/etc)
I'd spend the time/money to install a water temp gage, as well
as an oil pressure gage. The idiot lights and senders are old
enough on these tractors to easily be less than accurate or reliable.

I have replaced waterpumps on the 1510 and 1510D models before. Fairly certain your model has one in there somewhere /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Take a look and see what your fan and pulley are mounted to...I mean I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I dont have experience with this model but I have been told anything smaller than a YM2000 is thermosyphon. 2000 and up were water pump equiped. I may be wrong as well but, the 1700 I had briefly didnt have a pump.

The YMXX10 and YMXX20 series had a lot of different features than the YMXX00 units did

I'll piggyback on Jerry because he won't care /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The variety of info on this thread is why we always say "Go to a reputable dealer." Everyone believes they have accurate information, but 'tis not the case.

1510 HAS a pump. As do 1700 "B" series. And 1601, 02, 10. 1702, 20. 1810, 20. 1502. Maybe another I've missed. And probably all that I can think of above 2000.
