Just got my (new to me) US35D home. There is a shift lever I can't identify. It is located on the right side just above the rearend locking lever. Anyone got any ideas? JD 990 dosen't have this lever, I'm sorta hesitant about moving this, and I am at a loss.

I think that lever is for shifting into low gear. when you use it, it changes all the gearing to a low level. You can still use all the ranges and speeds it just changes the overall drive ratio. At least that is how it works on my FX28d.
Give it a try and let us know.
