I believe that the YM135 was the smallest YM sold in the USA & Canada. In spite of the size it was a real tractor with the same features as the larger ones. There was even a FEL with a full length subframe made for it.

Well, you are very close. There are two more YM machines that are smaller, ;)

About 1976 I rented a YM135 with loader, for a weekend project cutting terraces into a too-steep back yard and hauling the dirt out through a gate. Then the following weekend to finish the project, I went back and rented a similar tiny Kubota that had 4wd. The 2wd Yanmar was noticeably the better of the two. I've been impressed by Yanmar ever since.

And let's not forget the YM122 & YM126. :)

Was anything smaller than YM135 ever offered by Yanmar dealers here?
I believe the 135 was the smallest of Yanmar's ag style 4wd tractors. At least it was the smallest I saw. Apparently Yanmar did build some smaller 2wd garden tractors, but our local Yanmar dealers didn't handle them.

At the time, garden tractor and ag tractor dealers tended to be very different types of business - with the new "compact 4wd tractors" struggling to find a niche in between.

Yanmar sales were slow because they were much more expensive than the competition. The smallest Yanmar seemed overly complicated and expensive compared to similar size garden tractors like the Wheel Horse line. Yanmar advertising emphasized their quality - but in the 1970s, high quality manufacturing from Japan wasn't yet part of the popular perception.
