Yanmar engine help?

Hi I have a ym2000 and I have the engine at machine shop and the manual I have doesn稚 have the connecting rod big end diameter. Does someone have it? the rods are the same on 1600, 1700, 1900, 2210, 3000, 3110 and others.

That's the manual I have but the rod big end finished diameter is not in the manual.

Not following you. You are given rod Journal size and bearing clearance. Are you doing some kind of work on the rods? If not, plastigage should get you where you need to be.

In that manual its giving the crank pin journal. I need to resize the big end so that they are round apain.

I am old and I know slow to catch on. Be gentle with me. The crankshaft has main journals and rod journals. The rod holds a rod bearing. I normally think of turning the rod journals on the crankshaft to get them round again. The crankpin journal is the same as the rod journal and that is what is showing on the attachment.

It痴 all good haha, this engine is just driving me nuts. The dimensions I need is the rod diameter without beings installed. The bore is out of round and needs to beaut back to round. I called yanmar and they said the dimension is proprietary. The problem is when the rod cap is tightened down the bearing has a specific amount of bearing crush so the bearings doesn稚 move and I need that dimensions.

Forgot untill late last night. But what manual do you have? We may have the same one. Mine is Yanmar. But if they told you it's proprietary then it won't be in the manual I wouldn't think?

Hi my manual is not yanmar, but if you could check that would be great. It is proprietary from what I was told but not 100% sure.

I guess like Winston I am old and and slow! If your rod opening is out of round, then replace the rod. There is likely not enough enough material to safely remove any. If the crank surface is out of round, you will need to buy oversized bearings based on the amount of material removed by the machine shop. They will be able to tell you how much they removed.
