Yanmar 2610D

Hi all

New to TBN but have seen much useful info here. I'm currently in the market for a compact tractor. I found a local mom and pop dealer that sells used yanmar grey market tractors. They have a 2610d tractor on their lot with a front end loader. This model is 4 wheel drive, power shift, and power steering. It has about 1500 hours on it. Everything seems to be in working order on the tractor. They are asking 8400 for tractor and loader. They give a 30 day guarantee. Is this a fair price?

Also found another local dealer that sells grey market orange. He had two 25hp 4wd tractors on lot with loaders for 8k (price included tax title liscense and delivery).

I plan to use tractor to keep up 28 acres (driveway, pastures, wood trails, and make flower beds).

In your opinion which is the better priced and more useful tractor for me? Do I need a bigger tractor (my old man says I do).

Also for 10,600 I can get the yanmar with a 16 foot trailer, 5 ft. bushhog, boom pole, 5 ft. grader box. Is that a good package deal to consider?

Verify that it has power steering. I have never seen a 2610 with power steering. That doesn't mean that they don't exist. I have never seen a 2620D without it though.

I think your choice of the Yanmar would suit you fine. I have a 18 acre farm and my 2620D does everything that my wife and I ask. You will not need a boom pole. The front end loader with a chain will do just fine. Invest in the trailer only if you plan to move the tractor quite a bit. The money saved could buy some nice extra implements for around home. Make sure the box scrape has ripping teeth that can be adjusted to depth. Note that the radiator catches a good deal of dust and need to be back flushed with a garden hose to keep the engine running cool. Good luck!
