i am changing the trans/hyd oil and the manual says to use jd 303 and i dont have a john deere store around.what is another name brand i can use.thanks rac

Most all universal hydraulic transmission fluid will have a list of specs on the back. In the specs you will see jd303 listed. It is a very common spec and I think about every universal hy/trans I have seen complies.

Walmart sells a house brand Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission fluid in a 2 gallon container. It is JD303 compliant. It sells for $9.98. I have been using it for two years now with no complaints. Hope this helps... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Many Sams CLub stores carry a universal that meets that spec for app. $20/5 gallons. That's where we buy it.
