Yanmar 2000 tractor

Thinking about getting a 2000 Yanmar tractor. I now have a Yanmar 1500 that I've had for over 10 years with very little problems. I need a few more HP and I think that the 2000 will give me that. Is the 2000 as reliable as the 1500? How about parts, are they available?

At least as good, I think better - in both respects. They are both classics.

Its simply a bigger brother to the YM1500.

But if you are looking for more than just the increased hp, then a 2210 adds a lot of convenience with its Powershift.

Yea there is just as many parts if not more with the 2000 available. With the ym240 here you can get many things from yanmar still id imagine if Hoye does not have it.

I have not used the 1500 but the 2000 does have its limits. In clay/loamy soil i can pull a 4.5" disk harrow and thats all it wants once it digs in. I can easily run a 5ft bushhog in normal field maintence cuttings around my farm. If it get really overgrown or is tall fescue or bermuda the 4ft is all it wants there. Normal finish mowing i can run a 6ft if the grass is tall or really thick it bogs way down and i have to drop a gear or two and take smaller bites so a 5fter would probably be its happy zone for all around there. But 6ft was what my uncle has that i use. And if i lived at my property and reguarly mowed it, that would be fine. Its the trips there every 6-8 weeks and trying to cut what has grown up with the finish mower that bogs it down.
