More info needed. What happens when you put it in neutral? Is there an implement attached?

Does the PTO continue to turn in neutral when it is under a load? It could just be spinning because of the friction in the gearbox and will stop if it gets any resistance.

I have no implements for it. and with the decal above I will check it out. I tried to stall it with my foot and I cant. but I will try again in the neutral position. I thought it was just a 2 speed pto and I could not stop it in the center position. will post again. thanks

I could not get the pto to stop. So I got to forcing the lever stalled the tractor now the pto is stopped and when I step on clutch and engage it. It stalls the tractor. And I was off the tractor with it idling and moved the lever and it stalled the tractor now this is were iam at. What is behind the lever controls anyone know

Sounds to me like your going to dig in. I am not that familiar with the 1500 but looking at part drawings I would think removing the shifter housing #29 might let you see what is going on. Don't know that, someone may know better. TRANMSISSION_CASE_G: Yanmar Tractor Parts

TAke the cover off. worst case you have to clean it up and put some silicone on it and reseal it.

You can pull the whole PTo off the back as an assembly, that is if its like the 2000.
