Tommy had one come off the rim on him. He was in one heck of a rut doing it though you should see the pictures. He's the only one I've known to really have any problems with one. (aside from lack of traction as I mentioned before).

yea i had one blow off the rim. and they are only 2 ply . i found they flexed alot on the sidewalls when riding on and incline or decending into a ditch. they are ok for stock tires .i cracked both front fenders going into a ditch a few months ago and i have been thinking of ways to iether fix it or replace the fenders . after messing with some camo tape i think i'm gonna replace the fenders and get some camo clad and cover all the plastic and the outer bed with it.this is cheap camo tape from walmart and i wasn't finished yet but i plan on doing the new fenders in camo clad .i think it will look pretty cool. gonna see about having it profesionally installed though i don't want no wrinkles.

Aren't they 4ply ? They do flex a lot but I haven't had any problems. I think I've proven the fact I beat on my gator. Obviously there are instances where you're going to end up in trouble though.

I was out putting along last night and the gator crapped out on me. I started getting a smell like something electrical was heating up so I didn't try to mess with it and I hauled it to the dealer this morning and they said that the fuel solenoid went out. Has any one had one of these problems. The mechanic said this was very rare. I only have 7.5 hours on it so I was suprised that it dumped so early but the dealer had a new one and we're back in business.

i had one go out on my hpx right after i got it. it was some little solenoid that screwed into the bottom of the carberator . but when it went out it shut the fuel flow off. the mechanic said to get it hack running all i would have had to do was unplug it but i didn't know at the time.

Tommy...
It didn't take him 5 minutes to replace it but 30 minutes to get all the other parts out of the way to get to it. I'm just glad that they jumped right on it. I've always been real happy with their customer service.

Be thankful. My dealer isn't going to have a thing to do with me until fall harvest is over... We used to be farmers and bought plenty of new equipment from them totaling lord knows how much plus we still own a tractor and a bunch of mowers and other equipment all bought from them... Not to mention the possibility of trading in this hpx for something else next spring... Maybe RTV now ?

Heat, air, cab, hyd. dump, and even if you add aftermarket lights, winch and several other goodies, they are well under 18k, and I've seen RTV's painted JD green:D

It'd be a 900 though because of cost. :( Most likely it will end up being an XUV if anything but it's annoying.

i would give the xuv's a year or two to work out the qurks then get one . they will probably be giving them more hp and a better setup all together on the rearend. the xuv is nice but i think it needs some work to be great and worth the money.

IMO they're already worth the money if you're in the market but trading the HPX for it just because maybe it isn't. I'm certainly going to see what is in store for 08 at least. I can hope for a clutch enclosure... But I'm not making my hopes to high based on past years.

Do any of you gator owners have the deluxe light kit? I have the basic brake/tail light kit and I ordered the deluxe set and the dealer wants what I consider a lot to install so I'll try this my self 1st. I have noticed that there are quite a few connectors that are open and I have to think these would be for the turn signals and 4 ways. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I put the deluxe light kit on my XUV last spring. Wasn't all that bad. Just plug in the supplied harness in the rear and the one in the front. The stock headlight switch gets replaced with a two position one that allows the tailights on without headlights. Hard part was mounting the brake light switch by yourself. Small space to work while getting the nuts on the bolts. If you have the basic kit the brake switch should be mounted already.

I had the deluxe light kit and traded it.
My problem was that the rear lights stick out to far and if you travel on narrow trails you will bend them.
It is a very well built kit. And I recommend it. For normal use it is excellent~!

can't you just mount the rear lights under the bed insted of on the side?i mounted my lights way up on the rack i made for the rops . but i think you should be able to mount the lights under the bed pretty easy.

Craig, Skip, Tommy,

Thanks for the replies..I dont do too much trail riding, but I have noticed even with my tail light kit now it does stick out quite a bit. My biggest reason for getting the deluxe set is running in and out of these fields I need a way to signal what my intentions are better than throwing my arm up in the air and trying to signal what I'm doing I guess people dont know arms signals in my area but they sure know what the middle finger stands for.

Thanks again
