I lifted many items much heavier than that with my 4047. Heck, it lifted a 1,300lb block of steel (weighed as such) on the pallet forks with zero counterweight...add counterweight, and it toyed with stuff in the 1,500lb range.

The bags are clearly marked SALT 40lbs! Pallet forks weight? Have not lifted the salt on the 3 point. Moving that many bags again is rough on my back.

I have tested a R4041 on my lot many of times and with 2,000 pounds of cement blocks on a pallet with the tires filled it did lift it over 4ft off the ground. Honestly i think the system psi on the tractor is not set right. I know you had your dealer check the pressure but i would say check the pressure yourself. LS tells me that the psi from factory is around 2200-2300 psi which i have been bumping some of them up to around 2600. With the weight you are lifting with that XR it should lift it even if it was on a pallet and on your forks. I have an XR4040 on my lot right now and i will test it as soon as i can and post the results.

I have one of those plastic tanks with the cage around it. 275 gallons is what it will hold. I have 4000 pound Terra Force 48" forks. They weigh 400lbs just the forks. not sure what the tank thing weighs. i would say 100 lbs or less. I put 200 gallons of water in it and my Xr4046 picks it up pretty easy. How high I dont know but I know it will pick it up 3 or 4 feet. I figure this weight about 2160 lbs. I am gonna keep putting water in it to it no longer will pick it up and should be able to get a pretty dang close figure of what mine will and will not pick up.

How are you measuring gallons accurately

Something is very wrong. That loader should toy with 1,100lbs like it's not even there. Here's mine lifting approximately 2,000lbs of concrete forms. Each form had a sheet of 3/4" plywood at 60lbs each, and 6 2x4x8s per form at 13lbs each for 78lbs per form...total of 138lbs per form.

15 forms x 118lbs = 2,070lbs.
