X475 shuts down

Hey all

I am new here and just acquired a JD x 475. It is in pretty good shape but when given full throttle is shuts down a few seconds later. I checked the fuel pump pressure going into the carb and it is correct. Wondering if anyone here has experience that could help me out. The previous owner had this problem and got sick of messing with it. He installed a new carb and plugs and coils, then gave up.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Did you check for spark?

Will it restart right away?

Yes spark on both sides although the plugs are pretty fuzzy black looking. It will start right back up

Fuel tank not venting? Open cap a turn and see if anything changes.
