So, I've been searching and reading and think what I want to do will work. However, I've only seen it listed twice in older threads and wanted to verify. I have a 2006 X324 with a cracked, beat up seat. Instead of just replacing, I was thinking of upgrading. The MILSCO (Michigan Seat) V-5300 is on sale right now at Northern Equipment for $279. I have read in two different threads that the required JD 7 series SE seat rails/mount will work on any X series, 300 and up. However, I was hoping for confirmation before spending the big bucks. I also wanted to double check the JD part number for the rails/mount. What I'm seeing is BM21332 but some sites say it's discontinued. Anyways, if anyone can tell me if this setup will indeed work on my baby x300 series, I'd really appreciate it. :drink:

You got a saw, a drill and a welder? Then you can make it fit.

Hey Richard, I was hoping it was a bolt on with the JD rails as was posted a few times. As much as I love a good project, I'd rather not reinvent the wheel.... :D

Rodney,

Is the Northern sales location near you? What is their return policy? Perhaps you could get the seat and if it doesn't work for you, could you just return it?

I think the thing to do is go to a Deere dealer and get the rails. I know the seat fits the rails. If the rails fit my 324 then we are good to go. It's a lot easier to return rails than the seat. Maybe I'll start there. I was just hoping someone would say, "Yep, I did it. Bolted right on..." Ah well, off to Deere I go... :)

Just rec'd the Surplus Center catalog, and there are a number of seats that may fit what you are looking for.. surpluscenter.com will get you there.
Much prefer dealing with Surplus Center over Northern Tool.

But hope your recent plan works for you.
