Got all your Christmas shopping (wrapping) done?
I think the worst part is the wrapping. Man, I hate that. I'm not a huge fan of malls mind you but the wrapping thing is the least thing I want to do.
It's like my fingers don't work. Or, the same paper my wife uses is twice as thick for me. Or something. Anyway, when December 26 arrives there's this teeny little smile at the corner of my mouth that always seems to appear.

Terry,

You need to get on the Gift Bag bandwagon. We've got lots of fancy bags that we reuse every year. I can stuff tissue paper in the top of a bag in a few seconds, the wrapping is all done in minutes, and we are ecologically sensitive. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Best of all, my wife thinks it was her idea! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I get extra credit points for wrapping gifts. My wife knows I TRIED so I get points for "effort"

When it comes to wrapping I always get points for the effort because I use so much tape that they need a stanley knife to unwrap the package.

And, I like to take a small gift and keep boxing it up until we get a big box.

My MOM used to get a kick out of that and so it just proves that her sick way of having fun has passed on to Her Son.

Just one of my fond memories of MOM. A jokester with a smile.

Isn't that what the "gift giving" part of the Holiday Season all about?

You have to have some fun with this stuff.

Example: My Daugher wants Roller Blades so she can skate with her kids. We have some old roller skates that attach to a shoe (and have the key) that we are going to wrap up in her "Roller Blade" box and give to her. HA....... it's fun..

Have fun folks,

Tom

When the wife and I got engaged many years ago we didn’t have a lot of money. Bought her an engagement ring the following Christmas. Started with a 3' X 3' box down to the ring box.
Very fond memories indeed. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Thanks for the reminder /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Today is my wife’s birthday. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I had every intention of warping the gifts that I bought her. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

But as I was looking over the last 12 hours post on TBN she got up at 5:00am. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Off to the closet and get the gifts and hand them to her in the bags and boxes that they were purchased in. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

She says she still Loves me. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I still have almost 2 weeks to get the Christmas presents rapped. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Where can you get those fancy bags and tissue paper on the internet? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Terry, I figure some things are best left to my wife. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif She does almost all the shopping and wrapping, and I think she's nearly through. And like Bill, she does use a lot of the gift bags and tissue paper also.

The only thing worse than wrapping is Painting !

You know that wrapping packages will never become your livelihood when one of your family members is handed a wrapped gift and the first thing they say is..."Oh, Garry wrapped this one!" /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I've used the gift bag idea a few times, and it's a good one. I've also done the various size boxes inside of each other. But I think the best thing I ever did was make my wife go on a "treasure hunt" for her gift. I gave her an envelope with a little card that gave her a clue to where the next envelope with a clue was hidden. I had her going throughout the house until the last clue led her to her gift, which happened to be an original piece of art that she'd been wanting. But the best thing about it was that I never wrapped one gift! I just wrote little notes and stuck them into an envelope. She STILL talks about that one! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ron,

I didn't say I knew where to get the bags. They just magically appear - and multiply like rabbits. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif We must have a hundred of them now! Like I said, my wife thinks it's her idea, and I certainly won't try to step in and take credit for it. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
